So it's only now I realise I should post things here rather than in the main forum
but I'm looking for an artist to help with a computer map.
Details and sketch can be found here http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=38479

seeing mention of the titantic put me thinking an ocean liner or cruise ship like the qe2 etc would make a great map
Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.

It was joked about in feudal but i think a golf course would make an ideal map tees, greens, fairways, bunkers all are ideal territories you could even make the bonuses the par for the hole this idea has lots of scope if someone with some graphical wizardry was willing to come on board this is a map i could help with from the start as i would have a fair bit of experience in course layout etc.
if you follow the link below you get an idea of what i am talking about

actually if gimil was on board with this im certain we could design a sweet looking 9 hole course using the feudal footprint - it could be called the feudal course whether we use feudal or not i do think a golf course would make a fine map

New Map Ideas Thread, Open! - Post Ideas Here
First Post Updated
Coleman wrote:I'm changing this first post to explain this topic a little.
In general it was found easier, especially early on, to have people post their one line ideas in here. That's still true.
Ideas a bit more thought out then map title / theme can make a topic even without a draft provided we don't hear the same idea once a month (see recent announcement). Once/if these ideas are picked up the creator should start a new topic and the idea one will be locked.
It's not at all helpful for me when someone posts an interesting paragraph and someone tells them to put it in here. Continuing to do that may result in post deletion and even a warning if you keep doing it as it's not very nice to our new players who aren't used to how we work.
Thanks for reading.
Warning: You may be reading a really old topic.
3 map ideas
I don't know if these have been suggested: 1) The Los Angeles basin with all its little cities. 2) Disneyland - The Magic Kingdom 3) New York City and all its burroughs.
The Shopping Center

Very very basic at the moment. Light green/yellow indicates stores, the purple indicates the walkway.
I'll do the names later.
There are 39 territories? Is that too much?
Also, should I just let the territory borders be the lines, or define them differently?
I'm thinking the top right will have the information about bonuses.
I'm still unsure of where to place continents. Any opinions on how to make the map more aesthetically pleasing?

I have had this idea for a few days now, and it's really been burning at me, but I suck with graphics programs, so I ask someone to pick this up.
Basically, it's the US presidential election. You have a map of the US, with certain bonuses for swing states, early primary states, etc. However, to spice it up, all states start neutral. There would be 24 or so active territs. at the beginning of the game. These would be candidates for each party (dems, GOP, and third parties) as well as "qualities" such as experience, charisma, and positions, such as "big government, small government, war hawk, etc. The players would be able to then attack the neutral "Republican nomination", "Running mate for the GOP", "Democratic Nomination", "Running mate for the Democrats", and some sort of thing for the third party.
Once you got the nomination, you could attack New Hampshire or Iowa. From there, the objective of the game is to hold 270 or more electoral votes.
If anyone wants to pick this up, PM me, because I'd like to be a part of the development proccess if possible.

ok im gonna suggest something again
Empire Builders
Basically, everybody starts out with 1 castle (can be 8 players unlike AoR and Feudal) and then has to expand. You get bonus' by getting certain things
(armery, weapons maker, stuff like that) but u also have to get food stores and such so that u can expand without losing armies, so say u can only go 3-4 territs away from your castle before you start losing -1 for not having enough food. There could also be areas for training (archery ranges, whatevertheplaceisthattheypracticewithswords, stuff like that) and if u have a village u have to have stuff to keep it in order (optional)
and then finally once u have enough u can be able to conquer other kingdoms.

Imperial Roman Legion

This image is the start of a map based on the organization and command structure of an Imperial Roman Legion.
Each shield is a century, each helmet a centurion. There needs to be added the Tribunes, Legates etc. along with the cavalry units and possibly artillery. In all there will be some 160 territories.
Gameplay will allow attacking down a cohort's centuries and up the chain of command, as well as century-centurion and adjacent-same-level attacks. Senior officers may also bombard lower ranks.
Bonuses will be given for holding part/all of a cohort or part/all of a given command level.
