Is there a way i could get a humongous hi res version of this without the white circles¿
Re: World 2.0/1 Map [Quenched]
I seem to have spotted a map bug in a game we're playing
game no. 10672023
the green player is getting a 6 bonus but there doesn't seem to be a 6 bonus avalible on the map
Please don't cancel or interupt the ongoing game as all the players know about this and are playing on. but it would be good to know how this is happening?

Re: World 2.0/1 Map [Quenched]
i kinda doubt it is a but, or at least not a bug of the map. maybe a site bug.
if a map has been quenched for so many years we can safely assume it has no bugs.
too bad it's fog and we can't see anything.

2012-04-09 21:27:14 - patrickaa317: it's not a bug
2012-04-09 21:27:44 - patrickaa317: i won't tell you where he is at but if he was holding all of north america it would read such as:
2012-04-09 21:28:59 - patrickaa317: +3 for the United States, +4 for Canada, +2 for Central America, +2 for North America (the difference between 11 & 3,4,2)
taking a break from cc, will be back sometime in the future.
Re: World 2.0/1 Map [Quenched]
Yes, patrickaa317 has explained it well enough for an ongoing fog game. This is not a bug at all.
Re: World 2.0/1 Map [Quenched]
If this does make sense (obviously I can't see as its a fog game) Then I don't think the award of the bonuses should appear as they do in the game log. as its just confusing for everyone else.
Re: World 2.0/1 Map [Quenched]
OK I know where he is and what he holds just from looking at the log. As the game went on
I still think that a better way to write the bonus in the log would be if a player owned a continent just replace all the individual bonuses with the continent bonus
or alternatively If you didn't want to reveal a continent capture in a fog game, alter the continent bonus on the key so it reflects better the game log entries.
So patrickaa317's example would look like
Central America +2
Canada +4
America +3
American continent +2
Just a suggestion to make it more user friendly
Really good map BTW

Re: World 2.0/1 Map [Quenched]
Yes, I agree it is a bit confusing, but on the other hand, it does make fog more challenging, at least until you understand the tricky bit. I highly doubt that either the map or the XML will be changed at this point.

I like the map and its complexity but some of the borders are not only unclear but confusing. Does Zimbabwe not border Congo on this map?

Congo DOES border Zimbabwe.TemujinKhan wrote:I like the map and its complexity but some of the borders are not only unclear but confusing. Does Zimbabwe not border Congo on this map?
Some other vague borders are Egypt-Levant and the whole Greece area.
And at first I wasn't sure if Hawaii and New Caledonia are part of the Oceania bonus because they don't have much visible coloured land with the troops on top.
But, y'know, it's not too bad and it doesn't stop me (or many others) from playing it. And I think this map is too classic (so to speak) to change now.

Re: World 2.0/1 Map [Quenched]
This is my favourite map to play. First few times I got caught out from a couple of the connections ManB mentioned, but like all new players, I learnt. My biggest GP cock up comes from Guyana. I always kept on missing that one when playing it.ManBungalow wrote:Congo DOES border Zimbabwe.TemujinKhan wrote:I like the map and its complexity but some of the borders are not only unclear but confusing. + I do not think any map is not classic enough to have a revamp at some point. But this one will be a hard one to get done.

Re: World 2.0/1 Map [Quenched]
This is one map I would love to take a crack at in a revamp. I love this map and know of the things wrong with it, but also I would hate to see this one (version) go.

Re: World 2.0/1 Map [Quenched]
Well we could petition to change the rules to allow a World 2.1 AND a version 2.2.koontz1973 wrote:This is one map I would love to take a crack at in a revamp. I love this map and know of the things wrong with it, but also I would hate to see this one (version) go.

In the course of various graphics-only revamps, it has crossed my mind that it would be nice if people could select the graphics they like, the old or the new. It could be a choice like the map size is now.

I suggested map skins once. Nobody liked it.ender516 wrote:In the course of various graphics-only revamps, it has crossed my mind that it would be nice if people could select the graphics they like, the old or the new. It could be a choice like the map size is now.

We have skins for maps, just not ones we can change at will. Also, how many map makers are willing to do this?DoomYoshi wrote:I suggested map skins once. Probably not many, but it would be a really cool premium feature.koontz1973 wrote:We have skins for maps, just not ones we can change at will. World 2.0/1 Map Auto-ended attack
Game 12468734, Round 13, march 20,13
I was only about 5 mins. into my turn when it just auto- ended my attack, and asked if i wanted to do re-enforcments. I was in a good position and had a good strategy laid out, which this totaly destroyed by ending my attack. The time was between 11:03-04 am.

Are you sure you didn't accidentally press the E key? That ends a phase of your turn.

Re: World 2.0/1 Map [Quenched]
Accidentally clicking the middle button on the map will do the same thing. That is something that is, I think, more likely to occur than accidentally pressing a key.
Re: World 2.0/1 Map [Quenched]
I didn't read all the 70 pages, sorry for that. But I notice that in this map Russia and Korea doesn't border each other. But in the reality they does.

Many maps on this site have such little deviations from geographic reality. They are usually introduced for reasons of better gameplay, or occasionally because of the difficulty of depicting all such details on maps limited in size as they are here.Stigni wrote:I didn't read all the 70 pages, sorry for that. Hi there,
Relatively new player here... absolutely love World 2.1... I made my own gameboard using it and I don't know if that was sacrilegious or something.
