Communism is a political view, although nearly everyone here agrees with you opinion you may wish to view the political compass graph where nearly everyone on this site is communist, take the test your probably classed as communist. It as an opinion has it's flaws but so does capitalism. It in theory is a great idea such as many people say about god but in practice it is not workable. Just because you disagree doesn't mean that other people are defensive of their opinion, my great grandmother was a member of the communist party, the arguments she gave are quite good for the cause, as silly as it may sound it is a belief so it should be respected, so DM before you call an idea "retarded" again think, can someone call the alternative the same.

There is no good communism and you have not proved that any communism is good at all, it is all stupid because it takes away money that people have earned and gives it to fat and lazy and stupid people which is theft. Theft is a sin so communism is retarded and an abomination against god. I don't care if old ladies think communism is good because they are past it and their opinions don't count any more so who cares. This thread has had lots of good arguments for communism being stupid and rubbish and retarded and a SIN, but it has had none for communism being good. Because these arguments don't exist.

My Great Grandmother was very wealthy yet supported communism. the main argument for are simple, give everybody even wealth, that is the fairest society, you cannot deny it the fairest society where everything is evenly distributed, it may not sound fair but I think in many ways it is better than capitalism.

DM you focus too much on your apparentknowledge that every unemployed person is fat lazy and cant be bothered and a society in which every rich person started form a humble background and worked very hard for his money. As we know this is not the case; many of the super-rich exploit people to get where they are and then stop anybody else entering tehir market using barriers to entry. I can do the purely economic talk wit you if you want and we can discuss the merits of each system.

I expect if we were all open we would come to the same conclusion that every democracy that has better living standards than the US has come to and say that a mixed economy (more towards socialism than the US) does provide the best provision for the country as a whole.

As i say we can commence a purely economical or purely political arguments but i expect we are not as expert yet at least as the people who have made the fairly moderate stance before us. THe most obvious example is that in the UK 90% of the votes were for moderate parties who wish for a mixed system.

DM you obviously don't understand why, how and where term communism was invented. Look that up. I think that you are looking it through the glasses of post war USSR, Korea and China.

As I argued before: main purpose of the communism isn't just to take away from rich and give it to the poor. That could be done in a few months or a year and what after that? Communism implied that there could be no classes in society, where every member was equal in every way. Example: school - that's why we had government colleges (as one of the top students in my class I didn't pay a cent for my studies), medical care - free to all (low cost) , et cetera... Communism had it's advantages, but failed because there are always some "more equal" than others, and societies (or nations) can't be monolithic.
