Cool map Coleman... the orange brackets seemed a bit loud... so I voted for the silver/tan... but maybe the orange could be toned down a little

My sentiments exactly.

The Orange/Copper does look nicer, but it's a bit loud and a bit too close to the color of Final

Okay, should I call them Leader Boxes

And then B Leader
G Leader
P Leader
R Leader?

So there's no official champion, just leaders?

Err, they are a gameplay mechanic to allow players to attack the other brackets once they get to the Quarters.

"Quarters can attack their Champions Box."
"[Champion Boxes] can attack all other Quarters."

DiM insisted I add extra connections so you don't have to go through the Final (win) to kill your opponents in an Assassin game (or any game really) so this is a possible solution for people that don't want to go after the objective.

That's an idea. :-k So many ideas...

I did mention +12 for all of a color once though, I don't want to confuse people anymore then necessary.

I would make the champions the same color of the Quarter that can attack them.

ok 2 things:

1. rename champions into leaders. there's only 1 champ but there can be more leaders.

2. i don't like the B R G P instead why not make the leader boxes silver and place 2 on top and 2 on bottom and add some lines to connect like this:

But arent these the same thing?

SB = Champ B
SP = Champ P
SG = Champ G
SR = Champ R

Why add boxes for the same space?

Just make the rule for the SB, SP, SG, and SR boxes instead of adding Champs.

I lost Widowmakers... That can't be a good sign. #-o

Short: Not the same place... At all...

Although now that I've had time to think about it, I see what you are saying. I could just make it so Semis can attack all quarters and it would be almost the same thing.

Yes it is the same thing. You basically have two territories representing the same space.

Okay. I've had some time to think. I'm going with the improved silver I posted last page.

I think if I made the Semis the same as leaders (formally champions) in being able to one way attack all the other quarters then the semis would be really overpowered.

The current leader boxes can each attack 6 territories, the quarters they do not represent, one way. They can also be attacked by the quarters they represent one way.

This can allow for a player to fort all their armies in an unlimited setting to any quarter they want from their leader box. Unless they then conquer the leader of the quarter they just took (which is costly, 8 neutrals) they can not put these armies back later.

I like having these be their own territories without the benefits of the semi territories. Players can ignore them and attempt objective based gameplay if they want. Making the semis the same would only further encourage players to ignore the objective.

Which champion boxes do you prefer?
  • I think the Copper/Orange looks best. - 25% - [ 3 ]
  • I think the Silver/Tan looks best. - 66% - [ 8 ]
  • I don't like either... - 8% - [ 1 ]

Version 11

Changes
  • Changed color of leader boxes to improved silver.
  • Changed champion to leader across the map.

Yes, in the map - but not in the legend/Rules area.

Another Change:

You need to explain in the map what R, G, B, and P mean (I know they are Red, Green, Blue, and Purple) - but for the leader box that might be difficult. Perhaps put this letter inside or above/below the corresponding color in the legend? OR you could put the word "(B)lue" between blue A4 and A3 [might crowd a little though] and apply for the other colors respectively.

Wow that's dumb I actually did update it but not in the version I posted. Weird. But... Fixed. Also added the B G P R to the legend boxes. Although I thought the SB, SG, SP, SR made it obvious near the final.

So you are keeping the silver boxes even thought they are the same as the final four boxes just not "connected" with lines?

I'm going to ignore you from now on WidowMakers if you don't bother to read my explanations. They are not identical. If you are confused perhaps you could suggest how I could make that clearer in the rules section of my map if you read that to begin with.

It's the post above the version 11 post.

Sorry I was not clearer when I posted. I do see the "differences" in the way each territory has borders. What I don't see is why you are adding duplicate territories that have different borders. By adding these 4 territories you are changing the bracket layout. Instead of adding them just change the way the Semis attack.

Current V 11:
Quarters can attack Leaders (1-way)
Quarters can attack Semis(2-way)
Leaders can attack all other Quarters(1-way)

New:
Quarters can attack Semis(2-way)
Semis can attack all other Quarters(1-way)

The new way is similar in gameplay to the V11 and does not add any new territories.

Sorry I should have posted this earlier.

Yes, the only difference is they go through 12 neutrals and have an overpowered territory that can attack the whole bracket and all the quarters in the other ones.

In my version, they can go through 8 and get some limited access or they can go through 28 for the same effect. They need two leaders to go both ways and their semi to attack their whole area. Actually its less of an effect, it's way more cumbersome. They have to give something up to attack more of the board and they can't do it from one territory.

12 does not equal 28.

I will continue to defend this issue until you're willing to let it go or you can convince me that the semis should break the entire game.
