Having to scroll down through several versions to find the small map (V13) isn't exactly "user friendly". Explanatory Text can be before or after the current versions of the map.

Yeah, you need Large and Small first. It's fine to wait until you don't think you'll need to make changes to bust out the small map though.

For me that's now or at least soon, but I'm one person.


then tomorrow i'll put up a small version. i don't think any graphic modifications will appear. or if they do they will be small.

a few shields i thin could do with being moved a few pixels, so that they dont touch anything here are a few examples:

mua up a few pixels.
gunn up a few pixels
market right a few
ayr right a few
tait a few down
foc a few left
iron mine up right
blacksmith right

those are a few in the south.

also is legend darker in the small version?


i have nearly run out of complaints now :shock:

If you notice, the whole map is "darker." That's just a perception thing (looking from farther away - Small - vs looking up close - Large).

thanks tel for the suggestions. will fix in next update.

and yes both you and aerial are right the small is a bit darker because i altered the lighting on the map.

i'll make both maps the same next update.

any other issues? i feel the large is done but as tel pointed the small version needs minor adjustments to shields and perhaps names.

whenever i log in and check on my map i want to see lots of feedback so i have something to do or see it quenched. i hate to see a map sit around for days without feedback.

and yes i too feel the map is almost done. other then the minor graphic changes i have to do to the small map i don't see anything else.
the gameplay is set the theme is set the graphics will be. all that's left is the xml. i've started it and i hope i 1 or 2 days i'll be able to put up some army numbers tests.

DiM...a couple of observations if i may...

1. I think both large and small versions are very well executed. :)
2. I have no problems with the small version as far as text legibility goes (others may have but i think it is clear)
3. the text is clear on the small legend and very legible
3. I assume the shields is where the army numbers will be placed and have done some small testing with a manual placement of 88s....
a. they are reasonably clear and visible against the background colours and shields;
b. if possible can you move either qasr or wun shield up or down so they won't conflict with each other;
c. i had some confusion with determining where the name was for the tert under Ju (but there was none)...the road there made me think that was another tert for Ju with no number and nu name for the shield....can you adjust that

Good work....you're all clear with me.

all the terits except for the castles will start as neutral.
so in a 2p game each person starts with 2 castles and 2 are neutral
in 3p each gets 2 castles no neutrals
4p 1 castle each and 2 neutrals
5p 1 castle each and 1 neutral
6p 1 castle each.

* moved army shields as requested by telvannia and cairnswk
* made both large and small at the same luminosity.

TO-DO:
* xml (started)

NOTES:
* in this version i put army testing results. i want to get feedback on visibility and stuff. i know they aren't aligned perfectly but that will be done at a later stage.
