OK - so we've got 17 responses in total so far. That's enough for a mini-tounament of four games of four players followed by a Championship game for the four winners from the previous round.
I'M GOING TO LEAVE THIS FOR A FEW MORE DAYS TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY MORE RESPONSES. 36 PLAYERS WOULD BE BETTER SINCE GAMES WITH 6 PLAYERS ARE MUCH LESS LIKELY TO PROVIDE ANYONE WITH AN UNFAIR ADVANTAGE OFF THE START. THERE WOULD ALSO BE MORE POINTS IN IT FOR THE WINNER.
In the interest of fairness, I can assign players to games in the order they posted. If the games were to begin today, the draw would be as follows:
Game 1
Jolly Roger
stdb04
alstergren
David_Wain
Game 2
spring1
ptlowe
Nikolai
eye84free
Game 3
Ronaldinho (if he wants to play singles)
Evil Semp
Gen. Garcia
UCAbears
Game 4
neildrill
jaydog
Roger Dodger
resitnecdan
Reserve: DavSav
ISSUES:
Alliances: I would suggest absolutely NO alliances. There's nothing worse than getting the upper hand in a no cards game only to have your two remaining opponents form an alliance and steal the game. Unfortunately, there's no way to enforce this rule so I don't think we can use it.
stdb04: This player may be on many players' ignore lists due to a few threads a while back. stdb04 has been getting a lot of positive feedback since then so I would like to keep stdb in - I hope no one has a problem with that?
Game Types: I'd like to have singles sequential games on the classic map with adjacent fortifications only, just to make it that much more difficult.
Real Time: A good point was raised in the thread regarding time considerations for real-time no cards games. For all those who replied to this callout, watch for more topics in the call-outs category posted by yours truly, advertising real time no cards games. I will post at least three days ahead of time and will list the start time for all time zones shown in the profiles of players who posted in this thread.
I think that's all for now. Stayed tuned.
