why do you have 2 tunnel entrances in air field #2?? one is enough like in the old version.
also i agree with gimil on the transparency. i know you want to make it realistic and put that grid in the background. it's just that at this point it makes the map a bit to cluttered and hard to distinguish.
gimil
i know thats what you want qwerts but the problem is because you've made in colors transparent it doesn't look right. try putting the solid color on top then redraw the grid on top.

Well at the risk of upsetting people trying to help me with my map. I like the transparency. I also like the 2 tunnels. I'm not saying the Iwo Jima movie was completely historically accurate, but the movie had 2 tunnels just like that, and it isn't bad for game play.
I like the look you have going where it's drawn as if it were really a planed military operation.
However, while I don't agree that the map shouldn't be transparent. It may be a good idea to present a version that isn't. I'm not sure what you lose by doing that except time. If people really do like the non-transparent version better then maybe it should be like that.
Although if I was a soldier with this map and received radio notice that stuff was going down in 250 G, I'd like to know where that is. Non-transparent you lose the realism a bit.
Tunnels and barriers-Here version without The white outline and fill. Also i remove some of Barriers in Plan B.KEYOGI
The map is shaping up nicely, I like the subtle changes since coming back from vacation. There is a couple of little things though.
Tunnels and Barriers - I wonder if these would look better without the white outline and fill, just have simple black icons instead? I think they might complement the map a bit more then, rather than stand out as they do at the moment. Also, the barrier on Plan B seems very crowded. Perhaps remove some of the barriers if you can, to neaten up the look of it there.
Objects - I'm referring to the ruler and other objects that look as though they've been placed on top of the map. The edges of some of these objects are a bit rough, I wonder if perhaps you could smooth them out a bit. Also, behind the ruler there is some red colouring that looks a bit out of place.

have you figured out what you're doing with the 4way borders yet?
one at pink and yellow areas (left part of map). other one at red and green areas (bottom part of map)

I agree that the barriers & tunnels look better now.
Im wondering if it would look better if you slightly rotatated the barriers between Mount Suribachi and 5th MD. At the moment, to me it looks more like a railway or something.
Also, the colours in the legend dont seem to match the colours on the map overly well. Its not a big thing, but to me it stands out a fair bit.
To overcome the 4-way borders, you could just place 2 or 3 barriers over the intersection. I dont know if that would mess with the historical accuracy you are going for though.

the ruler still has the red background look at the little holes in it. there's still red there. make that red transparent so that the coulor of the map shows there.

Qwert which is the last version of this map? There are a lot on page 1.
I find the background with that grid and the numbers to be distracting. I think you should use the original background.
