Donald Trump just pledged that, if elected, he will have the federal government buy 1,000,000 Bitcoin to establish a federal crypto reserve.

Saxi loves chaos!

Even the so-called bitcoin experts can't predict the price of bitcoin at the end of 2024. The Halving Event is coming this year and that adds uncertainty in this make believe investment.

The last halvening happened in April 2024, there won't be another one until 2028. Gov't investment in bitcoin is a pander, and neither Trump nor Harris will buy 1m BTC while in office regardless of who they are pandering to. If a gov't (like El Salvador) were to horde BTC it would be as a hedge against fiat currencies collapsing en masse at some point during our lifetimes due to money printer go brrr. It's not to make a 'quick flip', it's like buying life insurance.

Most of my crypto groups keep calling 'this is the bottom' every time we dip further, but we keep setting lower highs and lower lows and the short/medium charts and to me it still feels like we are in a capitulation phase and the next big leg up won't happen till towards the start of Q4, or first half of 2025.

I'm slowly loading my bags with ETH etfs in tradifi accounts on the big down days (thoughtful DCA) but still sort of expecting we may have to drop to 1500-1800 before things start printing again for alts.

On chain, just farming away with LPs (a mix of volatile and stable) trying to stay away from the truly degen stuff until some momentum starts building again. Fear and Greed index is still extremely bearish because trends are down and yet it's been a slow bleed without a real crash the last few months. Historically these have been good times to accumulate mainstream alts (Eth, SOL, AVAX, MNT, OP, GRT, not ADA because that is for suckers, XRP looking kind interesting for the first time in years because their case finally got resolved but also feels like the industry has revolved around the sun too many times to care about it anymore.)

Well, it had a mini-crash during the night, then this morning was churning around a bit, so I sold.

My initial $700 investment a few months ago netted me $925.

I know it will probably go higher and people will tell me I have no balls, but quite honestly 225 birds in the hand is worth 1000 birds in the bush.

Never hurts selling in the profit!!!

If I had to guess... there is a fervor that a 'pro-crypto' admin got elected, but that is likely to fade between now and inauguration day (we may see further highs before the slow bleed back starts), and then it's anyones guess if Trump will actually be pro-crypto or not. There are alot of reasons to believe he will (Peter Thiel and Musk basically finance the last leg of his campaign, he brought in JD Vance who is a Thiel surrogate), but Trump doesn't always do what he says and while there are things he can do unilaterally, it's totally unclear if republicans in congress will be as willing to go along with a pro-crypto agenda.

I'm not selling anything just yet, but if we top 6 figs BTC price over the holiday season I'll probably DCA out of 25% of what I have and wait for a dip to possibly re-enter. We've been waiting and waiting for ETH to do something as BTC had a nice year and we finally got a healthy bounce. The ETH/BTC chart could finally be starting to reverse which would be VERY bullish for the cryptoverse, but zooming out it's not really proven yet in any meaningful way. I'm pretty deep in both BTC and ETH spot ETFs, but it doesn't feel like if ETH does start out/over performing BTC for a while you'd actually do even better holding SOL than ETH.

Saxi is far from being underwater on Cardano, but even it almost doubled over the last 10 days! If he hasn't already he should capitalize the loss and roll it into BTC/ETH/SOL. He's got to be up enough on traditional investments this year to make use of the loss as a tax offset no?

This is pretty meaningless because it's just one of many Gold ETFs vs one of many BTC ETFs...but Blackrocks spot bitcoin ETF now has more holdings than their spot gold ETF

I've definitely been taking it in the ass from bitcoin for awhile now but, in the last few weeks, I'm a total Alpha Top.

Sounds accurately gay in Bear and Bull alike... congrats Saxi!

My 401k is just shy of doubling in value this year, we can do it still just need ETH to hit like 4500 over the next two weeks.

Canada miner moves to Texas

It's very likely electricity is cheaper in Canada so other factors are at play.

It's just the headquarters not the mining operations, they are doing it for access to the big boy capital. They are going to continue mining in Canada, Iceland and Sweden. If they start mining in Texas it will be due to mergers with existing Texas operations.
