Another thing on my 'to do' list is analyse strike wolf from Day 1 both before and after his 'confession.
I'd like to add, that it is quite possible the wolves did already know each other on Day 1...
but then again maybe not.In either case, the following post he made before he was found out should be looked at closely.
If he knew, he would likely misdirect. If he did not know, these may be his own
semi-honest speculations,
or there reverse.strike wolf wrote:Devante wrote:Take it we're already getting these "vote no lynch" since it's day 1 and we have no idea about anything really at this point right? I expect that's normal on the first day till more info is gathered or introduced from players. If so I'll follow suit
Its not set in stone. Different players have different beliefs in the matter. I personally believe that we should never go into Day 1 with the conclusion that we're going to no lynch because it takes pressure off any potential scum as Day 1 suspicions have a habit of disappearing D2.
I have been thinking more and more over the players.
Most of you have not really made an impact on me so far.
DDS: I am a little bit wary about his hesitancy to be investigated but the more I look at his play in comparison to The Tick Mafia where he was an anti-town role, he seems more assertive so far in this game. Voting No Lynch is also pretty standard play from him and being hesitant to use powers unnecessarily does seem to also fit that pattern. So ultimately I am leaning town. Still a meanie for voting me.
EW: His plan to investigate the potential sheriff before ultimately deciding is interesting. I was initially for it but I think DDS's reservations have mostly won me over to not using it yet. Some have cautioned that he might be trying to misdirect the investigation onto a townie to save a wolf from potential investigation. It seems possible but ultimately speculative. Neutral read but worth keeping an eye on.
Son!c: Outside of his conjecture about which roles line up with which secret roles, he's been on the tame side for Son!c so far. Either he's learning to be a little less in everyone's face about his theories or maybe this is how he plays as scum. Still active but trying to be less aggressive. That said, this is even more speculative than the EW investigation thought. Neutralish reading and Also a meanie for voting me.
Vot: Very active. Seems engaged both in reading people and figuring out the game. Leaning town.
Ewebasher: Perhaps it's just his name giving me misgivings but he seems to be more following than engaged. Could just be a newer player defaulting to backing more experienced players. Slight scummy read.
Strike: Pro-town hero unfairly blamed for his name.
Ultimately, this all brings me to Ragian who so far has basically just posted mostly fluff and one post where he kind of accuses DDS but puts little weight behind it. He really hasn't said much more than people who have only posted a couple times but he's used more posts to do it. Somewhat scummy vibe.
The first three listed DDS, EW, and Sonic all did things Day 1 that might well be interpreted as scummy.
In all cases he downplays or
partly excuses the behavior. Overall, keeping an open mind and not jumping ahead of the evidence is good play. Reckless finger-pointing would draw much more attention.
Still, if he knew (or suspected) the other wolves identities, he would want to downplay their scum-reads.
If he did not know, it would be similar but more even cautious,
besides townies that act scummy are almost as helpful to wolves as the wolves themselves.Of course, imagining a 'perfect storm' quartet of wolves comprised of strike, DDS, Sonic, and EW is just
too convenient. Are there no quiet wolves?, new player wolves?
Still, there
is a vague, general tendency for scum to be more active than town early in the game.
Perhaps, it has something to do about being a (relative) know-it-all with clear goals and targets ...plus the brutal, animalistic fun of
kill, lie, repeat.
Still, ultimately, Town is more satisfying, as deducing the mystery and separating truth for lie is the greater challenge.
Caution is still key, rereading Day 1 shows me that Ragian also seemed obnoxious on Day 1 and he was Town..,. Overall, cynicism and snarkiness are only scum-tells in certain situations. I can
somewhat rationalize DDS and Sonic's quasi-scumminess as being based in healthy town-suspicion... but EW said and did some things on Day 1 that remain deeply suspicious.
After strike was identified.• He readily admitted it without struggle. His reason being toto protect the other wolves, that
might be 'inexperienced', as per ragian's posit)
• He whined about it like a wolf puppy with his paw in a trap, going on about deserving (more) time and how he was going to drop out anyway because of something called RL (?) Strike is experienced, so this might have all been some kind of psychological play-acting.
• He point out the Barkeep Role... for no explicable reason?!!Is this to misdirect suspicion onto Loose Canon or, (spinning wineglasses) the reverse
So there is a lot of drama surrounding the Barkeep, Loose Canon.• day 1, He voted EW for the lynch... but since he is the Barkeep his votes might just be inherently weird...
(Today, he defended EW in his post)
• He defended strike
strongly, and with little hesitancy or doubting.
• Charle, Pixar, etc. have already declared him suspicious.
(He thinks this makes Charle town, but Pixar scum ???)
• so Day 2, he votes for Pixar... again he is the Barkeep.
I don't know, but I will say that the Barkeep's votes must not unduly sway Town votes,
either for or against...
If Loose canon is town he will recall the team nature of this game, his personal protective powers are of only minor importance to Town.
FPed by Sonic: Yes, possibly the Actor. However, in the card game I believe the actor can only use secret roles, and only ones not held by other players.
