Console Data for Lag

Got some bad lag and want to help the site diagnose the issue? There's been a lot of complaints but not many willing to help provide data for it. Those of us who are willing to but don't experience it that much (IE me) can't be of much help here so it needs to come from the source. There are so many options / settings etc that it's been difficult to diagnose.

So, follow the directions below to collect console data. After you experience a particularly bad batch of lag, go collect the data from the console and post it here. My hope is with a group of people collectively and actively producing this data for the site we can finally resolve what is one of the more common complaints around here, or at least see it improved somewhat.

Do it every time you experience considerable lag, just open a new post for each instance. Thanks.

Directions for providing Web Console diagnostic information (Works for Firefox, Chrome and IE on PC):

Beyond the above steps, for diagnosing user-dependent issues our best tool is the 'Web Console', available on all common browsers. Following are directions for provide a web console log related to your issue:

Go to page where issue is occurring, but just before the issue occurs (or you cab produce it by refreshing the page)
Right Click and Choose 'Inspect Element'
Choose the 'Console' tab
Make sure that the console is set to display All logs (There should either be an 'All' option or click on each type of log individually)
Clear the console (A 'Clear' button should exist that is slightly different on each browser)
Take the action on the page that produces the problem
Copy logs from console..
FF: Right Click > Select All, followed by Right Click > Copy
IE: Right Click > Copy All
Chrome: Use your mouse to drag and select all, then Right Click > Copy
Paste logs (CTRL-V) into a CC forum message or post

Doesn't seem like this is likely to help since this thread started a year ago and nothing has happened yet. However, this site has been of and on slow for me before, but RIDICULOUS all day today! Pages intermittently load, but never long enough to do anything. I unfortunately started a turn but can't even finish it because the site won't load. Similarly, most forum pages won't load, but I re-clicked over and over and finally got this. If this doesn't improve soon I'll be deadbeating all my games and quitting. Which is a shame because I always enjoyed CC a lot and recently got a premium. But I can't wait for pages to load all day and then incomplete my turns because of the lag.

Explanation

The waiting TTFB was 947.97 ms. Looking at this I'm routinely getting multiple seconds of TTFB per action. It's not all the time. Sometimes I can play pretty fast. This looks to me like I'm waiting on the CC server.

I always thought the problem was my internet, but now that I finally got a fiber optic connection I can tell when the problem is the server. Is this normal for others on CC?

I always thought the problem was my internet, but now that I finally got a fiber optic connection I can tell when the problem is the server. Is this normal for others on CC?

I also have fiber and do not experience the sort of issues you are referring to, or at least I don't notice them because they may not be as frequent with me.

Keep in mind you can have the highest advertised speed in the market you will still use a router provided by your internet provider (also happen if you use your own router) and very often the speed is far from what you pay for, mainly because your signal is never consistent, you may get full speed at 4am in the morning but many time a day the signal will join the surrounding existing funnel.
I went through all kind of provider here and all the way to the AT&T Gigapower, well, from the 300Mbps i had before i didn’t notice a big changes and found in all instance the same pattern of signal inconsistency.
I have since moved to a different location and decided to get the 300Mbps internet option, with this new provider i found overall good speed but i do encounter the funneling more than once.
I’m mainly talking if your connection is wired, to f you are using the WiFi then forget about whatever speed they tell you, the signal is far more inconsistent and more susceptible to loss especially when you have high demand device such as a game console, PC or other and that you have automatic update going on at anytime of the day.

Could be a lot of factor and i’m not saying CC is not the issue but bringing my own experience, to comfort my words and if you use WiFi, when you experience lag, turn off your WiFi and use the available 4G, from my end the site was moving much quicker.

The issue is, I'm testing my speed and getting over 200 Mbps. But some sites like CC have this lag issue at particular times in spite of what appears to be a fast connection.
My internet isn't slow, just CC (and a Moodle site I use). Other things, no problem.
But if you guys never have this issue, then there must be something going on with my connection that throttles CC occasionally... weird.
