Round 9, Muleyak plays 4 sets of spoils.
He's got 12 spoils on round 9?

Our games have many options and play styles
This game included escalating spoils
Escalating sets are worth 4,6,8,10,12,15,20... (i.e. the first set of spoils turned in by any player is worth 4 troops, the second set is worth 6, etc.) When the value reaches 100, it begins to escalate even more rapidly via the sequence 100,110,125,145,170...

If you click on “the game” tab up the top of the page you can see a number of different options. You can try them out or find one that is more familiar to you.

I`m not talking about the number of troops, but about the number of spoils. How can you get 12 spoils in 9 rounds?

In fact, if you follow the log, Muleyak should have by the time 4 spoils (not troops). So it should be 1 set + 1 spoil max. And he played 4 set (12 spoils) on round 9.

The # of troops earned per set for Escalating option is rather standard. Those are the options of the Board Game, at least most of the variation that I have purchased and/or played. This is also used on at least one other website that I have played Risk on in recent years.

I do not recall +1 anywhere. I do not know how many are in the your game, but +12 at this point would not seem unusual to me if 3-5 players are in that game.

I hope that helps. Enjoy the game as it is; if not, choose a different option (such as flat rate) for next round for Spoils (Cards).

I looked:

2020-03-14 07:34:32 - ralph027 played a set of Mississippi, Louisiana, and N. Carolina worth 12 troops

That was not the decisive set, but his 25 set in a later round where he knocked out (KO'd) another opponent, got his cards, and then cashed for 30 more troops. THAT was the decisive round and set.

Plus after he bagged ralph and cashed those spoils that allowed him to get shortbus, then he cashed again for 40 more troops.

That is why some like escalating, it makes the games a bit shorter.

I like no spoils then you need to work harder on things like keeping bonuses. But no spoils games often go much longer.

Ok, I got it.
Just did not know, that after eliminating someone, you get their spoils.

A huge factor; has been part of Risk from the original version, at least in the USA.
