For sure it will definately have 5 separate tournaments that would be "Dubs, Triples, Quads, 1v1 & Poly" nothing else, 5 game type that are the most popular and the most played.

There's no way I would support that.
Other than 1v1, there's nothing there for most players. All that team shit is for the 5% of the members that already get plenty of it in clans, and Poly is basically just team shit without the team.
The games that most people enjoy are 6-player Standard and 6-player Terminator. There's no way you can do a series representative of the site without those. Should probably require an Assassin component; although it's not nearly as popular as the Standards and Terminators it's still a major part of the site. Quite honestly, I would do a large-game (10, 11, and 12 p) component. The Conquest tourney in the last round of Championships was one of the most popular, because the Conquest maps are a world unto themselves and have a huge and loyal following. I would not cut that one, either.
If anything, we already have the Conqueror's Cup on the clan side that tells us who are the best team players. The tourney side needs to emphasize non-team games more.

I started to work some ideas about having this kind of "substitute" top notch tournament that have the best of the best at the end...it may take several months to have it together.

Like you said the main concern is having volunteer to help running those since i believe the auto-tournament feature doesn't allow enough freedom other than launching/creating games with random settings (settings should be the same from day 1 and until the final game).
Such as No spoils, chained, foggy for all team games and escalating, chained, foggy for the 2 other type (Poly & 1v1). Using Random map would be still the best option and having no trench mode at all to have the tournament running quicker. Round limit to be set for all type as well. Intent is to have the Championship/TPA version runing for 12 months instead of the current 2 years that it takes so far.
Prizes to be credits and dedicated trophy, no Stars (stars being only an entry ticket for such auto-tournament and doesn't have other value), credits should worth at least a year of Premium for each winner.
The biggest part would be to create and advertise good enough Satellite tournaments (that will allow entry to the main tournament only, no other prize), maybe goal is qualifying approx 128 players for each?
32 Quads
32 Triples
64 Dubs
128 Poly
128 1v1
Format to be various but maybe double round robin to have everyone playing each other twice or single round robin with best of 3 match (increasing it for 1/4 final, 1/2 final & Final).
Those are just ideas, the actual format seeing different random round with 3 players game then 10 player games, then other round start with kind of same format doesn't make sense to me, current format shows only a way to create tons of game and not necessarly seeing player/team playing all other player/team.
I started to work it after Christmas seeing the degradation of the TPA season that is not at the level it should be and seeing more now various tournament that is not playing at the high level like TPA should be (i include myself since I have to come up with one at some point as a last minute help) despite lots of effort from TO that are stepping into the arena and help maintaining the TPA season alive with good tournament format.
......That was my 2 cent
Hopefully more to come later this year (as long as my Rio commitment allows me to move to something else).

That's partly why I am asking ^^^
They said every 2 years in a post.....so that would be this July

I was very disappointed when this annual event became an event that would happen every 2 years. That would have meant that in January the 2nd installments should have started. Unfortunately this hasn't happened.
Will, reiterates a point that I made a long time ago, these events are way too complicated. We need to bring it back to the basics so these tournaments are manageable for the organizers. Prizes aren't even that important, the title itself of being the champion is enough.
As for nixing the team tournaments because we already have clans I don't think that clans and a dubs, trips and quads championship are remotely the same. There are plenty of people who play team games that are not in clans and plenty of people who play team games that play them with people that are not in their clan. Also clans are made up of many players a dubs team of 2 players.
I hope there is a way to continue this and get it back as an annual event. I would be willing to help out if the set up is manageable.

With autotournaments now, the setup is very minimal on a volunteer organizer's end. Games don't even need to be created.

The auto-tournament system was used for many sections of the Championships but due to things getting fucked up by the mediocre system, and with no help of people leaving CC but being automatically entered into games, several TOs started doing things manually.
