Symmetry, I don't have the power as a new community volunteer to lock community board threads. If I did? I would lock this one. That will be my recommendation moving forward.

You have (long ago) made your point. You filled a cheating and abuse report. You brought it back here. You are now, in my opinion, seriously abusing your freedom to post.

I suggest you stop the public conversation here. I suggest you write a long note to CC detailing your grievance and await their reply.

wait... you pretty much just repeated what i have said about this kid and multiple other of his threads, but as a member of the community team. you are surely going to be fired for speaking common sense and knowing the rules!!! he has beaten the dead horse... it is beyond tendorized... he has had a shot in C&A and was rebuked... then, he continued to spam that thread in some sort of don quixote belief that what he was saying, wasn't what he had already said and that the outcome was going to be different!!! a mod RELENTED (stupidly, in my opinion) and locked the thread, but moved it to the GD to continue the discussion. WHAT DISCUSSION?!! he has started multiple threads across multiple forums on this and nothing has changed. the ruling has not changed. he was told to file e-tickets, i doubt they came out well for him, BECAUSE THE NAME REMAINS THE SAME!!! he has done the same thing with multiple topics and has been allowed to flourish within every single forum without any repercussion for his blatant forum violations. i have received some of the most idiotic responses from team members concerning this very matter. you can send them the exact rule from the guidelines and it is like they are reading something else. it is like, the PM is blank. it is like, they have a personal grudge against me and won't do anything or once again, i'll be right... thank black jesus for some MORE common sense on the team. there are a few of you, keep fighting the good fight!!-BJ

p.s.-i know i just called out the team again. but they have already stripped my clan of it's clan listing (without notification or reason) and already tried to give me the CC Dirt Nap last month for a post that was edited and for which i fully apologized. sometimes it's hard being the target on here, just because you call people out on doing stupid shit when they are in charge.

I disagree with you. Both on the points of fact and as a point of principle- I did not in fact bring this discussion here, the moderating team that you are a new member of, specifically TeeGee, did that.

As a point of principal, the topic was moved specifically to allow a wider audience to discuss the topic. Again, that's the community team's stated purpose. I'm happy to accept a rebuke if it's felt that one of my part posts went to far, or I can attempt to support my arguments with evidence if you like.

I would, however, suggest that you marshal your facts, or perhaps PM me before you make the kind of snap judgement that led to the original c&a report being closed, and necessitated the creation of this thread by your team.

Quite a rant. What other threads have I started on this?

I know that you were rebuked by the mods for trying to bait me in other at least one other thread. This seems to be an issue of your own manufacture.

No PM necessary as generally, in my life both here and elsewhere, I deal with public matters publicly. I have zero beef with you. It's merely my opinion that you have shared your thoughts very thoroughly and you could, if you desire, move on.

As I grow into the roll of mod as the editor of general news, I was coached through this very situation over the last 24 hours. I in fact can lock a thread if it is warranted.

At this time I'll just let two experienced message board posters, you and owen, converse.

I think that this thread should be locked. Not because it's not important, but because at this point leaving it open only invites name-calling and trolling, not further constructive discussion. People have issued their thoughts in detail, no need to drag it on further.

I'm happy to continue a discussion, as long as Owen is, and assuming no more homophobic stuff from his side. If that happens, I'll continue my policy of discussing the issue with anyone who wants to discuss it.

As you learn the mod reigns, can I suggest that if you post mistaken information while threatening a ban (or a recommended ban) if the falsely accused poster replies, you're creating an awkward situation that could have been avoided with a PM.

You have not represented this situation correctly. No "ban" was threatened. A locked thread is not a punishment. It, like mets states above, keeps things from progressing to an ugly state. Please be more accurate in your rebuttals in the future please.

and now you have crossed to the dark side. you read nothing i posted. i absolutely agree that this should be locked. i have nothing to say to this guy, because it is like talking to a wall. he literally thinks that by being annoying, team CC is going to reverse it's decision on Sym's name... oh wait, you guys buckled on a rule change he was after, that made no sense, so why not do it for this, too? oh, because i'm somehow in a conversation with this guy and we are experienced posters. i'm not in a conversation with this guy. nobody is in a conversation with this guy, except himself!! this started on Feb 27th, was ruled on and for some reason is still going.

Metsfanmax wrote:I think that this thread should be locked. Not because it's not important, but because at this point leaving it open only invites name-calling and trolling, not further constructive discussion. People have issued their thoughts in detail, no need to drag it on further.

a point which i made in a complaint about this thread and it's need to be locked. a point which has been proven by sym calling confed a "nazi worshiper"... however, i'm the black jesus, so they have to ignore what i say/suggest, even when it is spot on. nice to see a few members of the team are trying to rise above the JR. MINT status and actually be productive, self thinking and aware of the rules and how things should actually be interpreted... the black jesus agrees 100%-Bj

p.s.-started on the 27th of feb, ruled on and then split off on the 6th of March... it is now April 6th and nothing constructive has been added... this guy is the ultimate troll and for some reason, CC bows to his whims...

We have a chance here guys. A chance to rebuild the sense of community that can be apart of a group of game players. It's about choices. Choices about what to post. Choices about how to interact with each other. Choices about what topics to keep at the forefront of posters eyes. Choices about how we present our ideas and thoughts.

I'm making a choice right now. A choice to be candid with you both. This message board is dead. No one comes here anymore. Nobody cares. I play lots of games with lots of random people. I always have. I like it. It's a study of the diverse attitudes and styles of play that I've always enjoyed. Two things I have noticed. 1. None of the names of players I don't know post anywhere on the public boards. 2. None of the names of players I have seen over the years post anywhere on the public boards.

They've made a choice not to come here. Not to read your posts. Not to read my posts. Not to follow this thread. Not to include their thoughts publicly at all. The people who post or who read posts? Often they are volunteers who have coloured names, or players who used to volunteer and are still hanging around, or very, very rare people like yourselves who check the public forums regularly.

This is a concern for me as news editor. Perhaps these public forums are no longer (or never where) a useful tool to share insights and info with the masses. Fare enough. But I'm not ready to give up just yet.

Let's make the choice to make this message board interesting and dynamic. Because I know we can.

There is no agenda among volunteers other than to do something positive. I'm encouraging posters like yourselves to do positive things as well. It makes a difference.

I hope we will each make the choice to do positive things.

The choice is ours.

Elf.

It doesn't matter sym. Everyone has their beliefs and views of the world. If the administration here at this game site has decieded that his screen name is fine then I have some choices:

A. I can foe a player, ignore them to the best of my ability and not read their posts;

B. I can choose to move along here at CC, make other friends, and do my own thing, content that I voiced my views and took it as far as I could;

C. Continue to bring up the issue even though admin have ruled and no one cares; or,

D. Leave the site and play Clash of Clans.

Admin have judged his name as okay. I can't change his name. You can't change his name or force admin to do so. Even he can't change his name.

His beliefs? I couldn't care less. I don't care about what you believe either. I'm here to play a silly war game, with stupid algorithm led dice that suck, posting on a board no one reads, because I choose too. If I wanted to debate world history I would have joined a site like The Onion or Reddit.

I bet you will find the vast majority of players feel the same way sym. Just trying to be as honest and candid with you as I can be. I would enjoy you picking a game play topic to write about, as I have asked, but that is up to you.

Cheers bud.

E.

[Edit: OP asked me about my beliefs on the topic.]

pretending? you opened a C&A report and it was CLOSED. that is the end of it. PERIOD. you just don't seem to get it. did you open an ETICKET and also have that CLOSED or did you just think that spamming the forum in multiple places with the same argument would get them to cave like they did on your "gay" crusade?! i really don't know what your end game was here... the black jesus is confused...-Bj

So anyway, I've sent an apology to CofedSS, as my post was ambiguous. "Worship" was a strong word, and my post could have been seen as implying that he worshipped Nazism. It would have been more correct to say that his username paid tribute to specific Nazi war criminals who were involved in the Holocaust.

I hope this clears things up.

Jesus, symm. I actually stuck up for you a little bit in the PL. But damn dude, no wonder nobody likes you or wants you in there. All you do is stir up shit for no purpose. You're like a little over-sensitive child going around wailing about whatever rubs you the wrong way that day at everybody that passes you by, while they all look on in bemusement wondering how one person can be such an incredible cry baby. Thanks for that. I have no idea why I got kicked out of PL. I suspect I criticised one of pimpdave's multis. He doesn't like critics, with or without credentials. Slavish obedience was never my thing.

It's cool that you're still there though. Groupthink can be comforting.

Now, if I can ask a hypothetical question- if you hadn't been so thoroughly indoctrinated, and could think back to a time when you thought independently and defended me (a little bit), what would your contribution to this topic look like?
