What's an easy way to increase user count? Ignore multis. Plus, Pimpdave was so great because he generated TONS of quality forum posts.

Then copy paste some posts that show the accused is pimpdave. Just complaining around won't get anyone any further.
Saying I am ignoring multis is plain rubbish but I will need something to work with. I am appalled that people think I know all the posts in all the forums around here,

Shannon Apple wrote:It's never that simple, so you can't blame sniffie. You guys should know that already though. He would have to have interacted with the banned user on a semi-regular basis before he was banned in order to be able to say "oh yes, that's him." Multi tools are only useful to an extent. What you can do though is check the location of old IPs versus the location of new IPs. Even if there isn't a match, it gives a better idea. Serious trolls spend money on VPN services to avoid that though, so sometimes it does take time to fully decide if someone is indeed a ban evader. I'm speaking purely from experience with forum trolls, not game multies.

It works in my field, an unusual turn of phrase or turn of language helps work out plagiarism if it's repeated.

plagiarism. not proof that it's the same author, that's quite a big difference.

Passing off a fellow student's essay as your own is plagiarism. I take your point, but the principle is the same.

So we agree that you are off subject.
A mod can't punish someone for being a multi just because he expresses himself the same way as another user in some or all of his posts.
You can punish a student for copying an essay though... There is enough evidence quite easily.
