ConfederateSS- offensive username

Although this was about North and south USA -and I admit I know very very little about the whole thing living in a real other world country where USA history holds little to no importance, it is an interesting topic for discussion. We ban usernames that offend some users, yet this is an international website and we allow all players regardless of nationality, religion of political belief.

I am sure we did and may still have members of the Taliban as members and I am sure they are offended by patriotic American usernames, should we ban them all too. It is a case of, this is a war gaming site and we all need to be thicker skinned.

Do you feel that this site's community should include the Taliban, Nazis, etc.., knowing that accepting such hate groups as sanctioned offends and repels others?

Of course, you are being a bit misleading though, asking for a change in username is not a request for a ban.

Asking for people to grow a thicker skin over the issue of the Confederacy seems like you might need to reconsider your understanding of skin colour and the role it played in the racist Confederate States.

Asking for a thicker skin over the Nazis? I just will never find them acceptable.

He referred to my country being over it. I'm British, so I wasn't sure. People like ConfederateSS often dismiss WW2 as a civil war between Europeans.
