Well every single company is a big call. However, my issue is not the recurring part but the fact that it is not clearly displayed. As I said, subscription does not necessarily mean automatically recurring. This is where it should be clearly mentioned yet it is not. The only way I found out was that PayPal sent me an email saying BigWham LLC had requested the payment be recurring.

Despite all the complaints that people are confused I note it still hasn't changed. How hard would it be to put a line in saying it is a recurring payment or change the line item description to include "recurring".

The normal method of performing this highly complex task is to have a check box (usually pre-checked) to consent to the recurring part of the transaction.

What happens here? I was told initially by BigWham and then again by IcePack that it is clearly stated if you click through to terms. BW thought it unusual that I didn't read the terms prior to signing up. I explained that Terms is usually a bunch of legal bullshit that no one reads.

Apparently I am meant to read the Terms to find out the payment is recurring. nearly 10,000 words!!

Well as noted they help a little, it opens the page at a place I only need to read through three paragraphs to find it. Thanks, that's so much easier than putting it on the payments page.

In fact I notice the checkout also doesn't mention a currency. That's ok though. Its clearly stated in the Terms after the first 1700 words that its US Dollars. That's a much better place for trivial information like that, rather than cluttering up the checkout page. I am sure most online sites don't mention a currency...

Revenues would most likely decrease with your proposed wording. Not sure the big cheese would approve. [-X

I do wish it was more clearly marked. Yes, people can read the terms and it's clearly spelled out there, but I would prefer to see the word "recurring" right in the title.

It is becoming the normal Internet business model nowadays, but there are still old fart like me who are caught off-guard by it, and I think there would be fewer hard feelings if we were more up-front about it.

It's not out of the ordinary for businesses to do that. My point is the DIDN'T before and now they do. Simply hiding shit in the fine print without a bigger notice is shady as hell but this game is bullshit anyway. I was kind of looking forward to not paying for this crap any more.

then you should keep up with the forums... it was already hotly debated right after the change was made... you may also take note that premium costs you MORE if you gift it to someone, which makes no sense... and as i finished this, another victim arose!!

It is what it is at this point. I cancelled the reoccurring payment through my PayPal so they can kiss my ass when this current one expires.

The company should be changed to Big Rip Off LLC. You have to go to your account and "unsubscribe" to avoid it. That's what I did and I was not charged again.

It would take 2 minutes (if that) to change the wording to "recurring", as a link, so you can go to the page and unsubscribe.

Just pure and simple deceptive laziness.
