Clarification of rules - serial "teammate" killing in poly

In the "unwritten rules", which are actually written, is says that serial teammate killing is a no-no. What I want to know is if this applies to ploy games. In once sense, the teammate is you (the human playing the game), and in another sense, it isn't (red and green, for example, are "teammates" even if it you controlling both of them). Any thoughts?

Killing your partners in a team game isn't always a "no-no", as you say. The primary example of this would be escalating games where, if necessary (and ideally it wouldn't be), you treat the game like a multiplayer escalating game and kill your team-mates in order to kill the enemy, by gaining cards and cashing for higher amounts to continue the killing run. On some maps it's almost always necessary, like Antarctica quads. Of course this isn't the ideal scenario but is sometimes required in order to win the game.

This would also apply to poly games.

Okay thanks, but I did specify SERIAL teammate killing. It's the serial version that is mentioned in the so-called "unwritten rules".

Thanks, unsurprisingly I wouldnt have found this as I was looking under the other rules section found in THE GAME.

Surely any teammate killing is fine if it gets you the win. Even "serial" teammate killing, if it is part of your strategy should be fine. Its not like an unfair advantage, anyone could do it. It really only pays off at the end of the game or as a means to finish the game anyway

Serial team-mate killing would be deliberately killing your own team/partners to lose the game. If you did the same in a polymorphic game to deliberately lose it would be exactly the same. It would also likely fall under point dumping if on a large enough scale.

Those rules need to be changed. Making people believe you can't kill your teammate in a game is a big mistake.
Game throwing cover the case of deliberately killing your teammate to lose the game already.

What if I kill some of my poly teammates to get the increasing cashes, but get poor dice and just barely fail to kill my opponent. Surely this is not point dumping.

I dont even really understand the reason why you would dump points,

but the key is "serial" which means more than occassional. So I would say if you are killing your poly teammate and on every occasion you are losing the game you should think of a different strategy
