there are those that make every topic about themselves and post something that has nothing at all to do with the subject the OP has brought about... nice try, but you kind of missed the mark with this whining and meandering post about your trials and tribulations within the C&A forums and forums in general... you seem to take great offense at things that are engrained within the CC culture. How can I get such "facts" straight if I'm not aware of them? How would I know what PMs owen sends?
My conviction remains that humiliating in the forum, followed by a PM, is not as encouraging to retaining members as simply sending the appropriate advice in the first place.

I find it rather sad that you think respect for others is a dead horse and the macho culture is engrained.
Regardless, the relevance to the OP is simple: "cupcake" has been used as a pejorative homosexual term in the past and may therefore offend and deter some homosexual players. That is my opinion, and in my view a possible restriction to the membership of this site, and I make no apology for repeating it - I hope, one day, the 'engrained' culture may change. Your caustic comments will not deter me from expressing that opinion in answer to appropriate questions: if you think they will, you are perhaps attempting to elicit action from your own deceased equine. I would cite the suffragette and civil rights movements as times when opinions moved on.

That said, the answer to the original question is obvious: we don't know how many non-white non-heterosexual players there are, because we didn't ask. Long may it stay that way, because it's of no relevance to game play whatsoever. If everyone just respected their opponents and commented on nothing other than their gameplay, I believe that there would be considerably more harmony.

No, and perhaps that's the problem. You don't appear to understand why a word might offend and deter some people. Just because it's been there a while doesn't make it right.

My (other) point was that we don't know that it's not a diverse membership - nor, indeed, whether it's an issue at all, it's simply that most people don't feel a need to declare their personal demographics, be it gender, ethnicity, sexuality, even age. Do we have enough old or young people? Do we have enough obese, left handed, short or short-sighted people? Does it matter? Since the title is "Equality of access": is there actually anything preventing or deterring non-white straight males from joining?
I concede that the site is not accessible to the blind, and it's probably offering limited enjoyment to those without literacy or numeracy, but what would stop anyone else from joining (other than the fundamental issues with the site/game itself)?

i have a problem with this statement, because you seem to be doing just fine on here... and seriously, "suck it up, cupcake", DETERRED you from CC? yeah, you are all over the forums and you play games... what are your feelings on, "Sorry about your little butt"? you seem think i invented "SUCK IT UP, CUPCAKE", but i didn't. and again, it is not homophobic. there was even a huge movement to have lack make "SUCK IT UP, CUPCAKE" t-shirts, when the forums were vibrant and the numbers were close to 30K on here.. something needs to be done to bring more multi-cultural flavor to the site or to get those players involved. we used to have a great little rainbow coalition running around the forums, live chat, mafia, etc... now, i can count prominent site members of color on 2 hands... where has Black Knight been? miss that guy... the black jesus has spoken...-Jésus noir

p.s.-oddly enough, the forums are 200% nicer than when this forum was full on rocking and flame wars was in full swing. I shudder to think how you would have handled being in here if "suck it up, cupcake" is that offensive to you...
