With respect to the facts: I cannot help that the historians of that time were white. Further, just because they were white does not mean they were wrong.

Because they were white means that they were entirely wrong and biased. You wouldn't want the world remembering whites for genocide? So the numbers get fudged. In the case of Black Slaves...the numbers get "fudged" in part do to "the voyage" and "illness"...also, it is quite common for whites to claim that the numbers were "high"...but not that high (whatever this crap-laden slop is supposed to mean?).

I say that based on over a decade of living in the UK. Brits care about queues, Brits like to talk about the weather and drink tea, Brits find passionate patriotism embarrassing and/or ridiculous.

I love it when racists and genocide supporters use ancient history as a means to confirm their belief system. Reminds me of a little story of Jimmy and Tim.

Jimmy and Tim were brothers. Jimmy was the oldest and Tim the youngest. One day Jimmy stole a whole bunch of cookies out of the cookie jar. This went on for a few weeks, and Jimmy and Tim's father wanted to know who was stealing the cookies from the cookie jar...but nobody fessed up. Tim always obeyed good ol' dad; but he noticed how his older brother always got away with stealing the cookies.

One day, the father placed a camera on top of the refrigerator and pointed it at the cookie jar to finally catch the culprit. Later on, little Tim walked into the kitchen. Little Tim was a bit nervous, wrung his little hands together, and looked around over his shoulders to see if anyone was watching. He was really nervous, but he had seen Jimmy do this a hundred times already and never get caught. All he had to do was pull up a chair from the dinner table, climb up to the counter top, open the cookie jar, and take a handful of cookies...heck, I won't even take as many as Jimmy always does, little Tim thought to himself.

Little Tim got himself about three cookies out of that cookie jar. He was excited of his prospect, clanged the cookie jar lid closed, pushed it back in place, scurried off the chair, and scooted it back by the dinner table. "There nobody will ever notice a thing!" Little Tim exclaimed towards himself. Then he rushed off to his bedroom to scarf down the cookies and play a relaxing game of Super Mario.

Then, that evening before supper, father called both Jimmy and Tim to the living room couch and sat them down. He had a very stern look on his face and he was grasping something behind his back. Jimmy and Tim looked at each other with big open eyes in despair at the sight of their father looking so angry. Jimmy whispered to Tim from the side of his mouth,"Uh oh...what did you do this time?" he quietly smirked and chuckled under his breath so that his father wouldn't hear.

"Alright, children. Today is the day of reckoning. If you answer honestly, I will go really easy on you...but if you don't, you will be punished. Do you both understand?"

Jimmy and Tim both silently shook their little heads up and down confirming that they did understand their father's statement.

"Good,"their father said,"Then I want to know which one of you has been stealing the cookies from the cookie jar?"

Both children got uncomfortably silent and hung their heads towards their dangling feet.

"Boys. Do not make me repeat myself. I want to know who did it?"

Little Tim couldn't take it anymore. He pointed his finger at Jimmy and began to squeal,"It was JIMMY! He's always stealing cookies all the time, Dad!"

Jimmy's jaw dropped open, he couldn't believe his little brother ratted him out like that.

"Oh, really? Is this so, Jimmy? Have you been stealing cookies?"

"Yes, Dad...I have been...I'm sorry,"Jimmy confessed to his crimes and apologized to his father with his head hanging down and tears falling from his eyes. Jimmy thought he was really going to get it. What was it that his father had hidden behind his back? A belt or maybe a wooden spoon? Jimmy had never been spanked before, but he heard other kids describe it and it sounded horrible.

Jimmy's father walked up, placed his hand on Jimmy's shoulder and said,"Jimmy, I am proud of you for telling your father the truth. Now go wash up and get ready for supper."

Jimmy got up and ran as fast as he could to the washroom upstairs...he couldn't wait for supper, it smelled so good and he was so hungry. Mom said she was making lasagna...whatever that stuff is, but it sure does smell good!

Then Little Tim got up and began to run behind his brother, but his father grabbed him by the shoulder and held him back saying,"Whoh, Whoh, Whoh, Little Guy! Where do you think you're going? Sit back down."

Little Tim sat back down on the couch, and hung his head.

"Now why did you tell on your older brother?"

"Because Jimmy is always taking cookies, and I don't want to get in trouble."

"Oh, I see. Now why would you think that you would get in trouble if you didn't do anything?"

Little Tim didn't know what to say and remained silent. Then his father pulled his other hand from behind his back. He didn't hold a belt or a spoon, he had the remote and turned the TV on.

"I want you to watch something, Tim,"his father said.

He began to play the video from the camera he had left in the kitchen. It clearly showed that Tim stole cookies from the cookie jar. He was caught completely red handed.

"Do you have anything to say for your self, Little Guy?" his father asked disappointingly.

"But, Daaaaad! Jimmy is ALWAYS stealing cookies! I only stole them that once! He steals MORE than me! I only grabbed three little cookies AND I put the cookie jar back! Jimmy NEVER puts the cookie jar back!..."Little Tim was coming up with every excuse he could think of to stave off his father's anger.

"STOP!"Little Tim's father commanded and Tim stopped stammering and complaining. His heart must have skipped at least two beats.

"Tim, I am very disappointed in you for not being truthful to me and snitching on your brother as well. I will have to punish you."

"But, Dad, I won't do it anymore,"Little Tim whined.

"I know you won't, Tim. That's why I am sending you to bed without supper,"Dad laid down his verdict and Little Tim began to ball!

Little Tim stormed off to his room sounding like a firetruck siren as he screamed and cried all the way to his bedroom.

Later that evening after everything had settled down and Little Tim's cries and screams had settled down to the occasional hyperventilated breath and the obligatory "I hate you! Nobody loves me!", there was a quiet knock on the door.

"Can I come in, Son?" Tim's father spoke from the door.

Tim wanted to say no, but he knew his dad would come in anyway. "Yes,"Tim replied.

Tim's father slowly came into the bedroom, pushing the door open with his elbow and being careful not to spill the glass of milk he was carrying along with a plate of lasagna.

"Here you go, Tim. You can eat and I want to say some things to you,"Tim's father handed Tim the plate of food and glass of Milk.

Tim started eating the lasagna. Wow! It was the best thing he had ever had!

"You understand why I sent you to bed without supper, right?"

Tim shook his head up and down while he ate.

"Good. I just don't want you growing up to be a liar and a thief...okay?"

Tim shook his head up and down again.

"Alright then, Tim...just put the dishes outside your door and your mother will pick them up, okay."

"Yes, Dad!" Tim exclaimed, overjoyed that his father still loved him.

Before his dad left the room, he stopped and turned around,"Oh and Tim?"

"Yes, Dad?"

"You can eat this when you are done with your meal...okay?"

His dad tosses something to him across the room and Tim catches it...it's a COOKIE!

"Thanks, Dad!"

"I love you, son!"

"I love you too, Dad!"

"Don't forget to brush your teeth before bed, okay?"

"You got it, Dad!"

The moral of the story: do whatever you like, because your father will not only go back on the punishments he gives you but will even be extra nice to you even though you have shown no remorse for breaking his rules.

Having lived in the UK for over 22 years, I would strongly disagree with that.

This seems to have gone way off topic. Why are people all arguing about this atrocity is worse than that one blah blah? I think a line needs to be set on what is acceptable and what's not. If the swastika isn't then fine, I can understand that, but then why are other flags/symbols that are just as hurtful to large groups/ethnicities allowed? This should be black and white (punny) for everyone, rather than having punishments dished out on a need-to-know basis.

Also, for those arguing that the Japanese bombings were justified, didn't Japan try to surrender beforehand? Yeah, they totally deserved to be nuked. I hardly think you'd be saying that if the situation was reversed.
