Comments: We started this game in April and early on (6th round), fra.marchini made an aggressive move that scored him a massive bonus, which nearly handed him the game. It was a good move and I tried to break his bonus but was nowhere near capable, so I appealed to the group that this was it if we didn't check him.
For the next few rounds, he went after me as hard as he could and after not long, I was able to get the upper hand. After that, fra.marchini cooled off a little bit but it was clear that he was just waiting for an opportunity to hammer me and I even mentioned it in chat when another player asked for help around the 15th round.
So, I just stacked up on my jumpgate as hard as I could for the next 30 rounds and he followed suit while I outdeployed him by a few troops every round. In the attached screenshot, you can see that I have 266 troops on my jumpgate while fra.marchini has 213 and he's deploying 12 per round, plus spoils but nowhere near my stack.
Both the other two remaining players were more than 100 troops behind both of us a that point and were battling to the death. At that point, I'm fairly certain I had more troops than both of the other two players combined.
Then, nearly two months later, in round 39 (see attached) I go to take my turn and see that fra.marchini had blown everything he had in attacking me, destroying us both and handing red the game within one round.
One game can be excused, but if you look at his ratings, every so often he gets something like: vindictive - suicidal - coward - irrational - cheap tactics - backstabber (pulled directly from his ratings). It's ridiculous that four people can play one game for that long, only for some unstable moron to ruin it for everybody by going suicidal as retribution for a perceived slight from a month earlier.
This was too egregious. Foed just doesn't do it justice.
