Worst round for me in the whole tourney... had to be the next to last too!
My only consolation is at least now somebody else will get bombed for once in the tourney!

You hope :-)

But yeah, you didn't have much of a chance on our previous pair of matches. I'd be happy to split the next pair with you :-).

I would assume there is a battle for middle ground in Round 8, but no bombardment results from it because that would be Round 9?
Does possession of the middle ground count as a tiebreaker - i.e. it counts as a territory, right?

Which games correspond to which match, since both best-of-3 matches are between the same 2 players?

There is a battle for the middle ground at round 8, the winner does not get to bombard but it does count toward the territory count at round limit. In case of a tie it is a single 1v1 game between you and stealth that will determine the winner.

Stealth neighbors you on both sides so you play a set of 3 games for both borders. 3 of them you are red, the 3 others you are green, this is how you determine which one belongs to which set.

Further to these questions, all very interesting and relevant, I have another regarding the middle ground. If I lose both matches to jon, and get bombed, then I go to a score of 1. Jon would go to 2. Would we be tied if I won the battle for the middle ground this round?

Same question a different way, If in the above scenario I did not lose the bombing game and my score is also 2. If either of us wins the battle for the middle ground in round 8, would that settle that particular tie?

Also, a comment regarding thelord's bombing decision. Without assuming anything, I wondered what i would do in his shoes. To start with, the only way there is anything to talk about is if jon wins BOTH matches against me. If he does not, then it's all over.

However, if he does, then our scores after Round 8 (without the bombing results) is 2 to 2.

Therefore, if you are the guy who has to select a player to bomb, it truly is 50/50 or a coin flip, if you are trying to pick the top player to bomb.

Depending on the answers to the above questions, if jon wins both matches against me, then thelord can decide the overall winner of this tourney simply by the choice he makes now, and he can equally go either way. That's pretty different.

I can take it thelord. in fairness, jon has faced it a lot in this tourney and fair is fair. Bring it on bud. My chat in this reply is meant to simply discuss the situation for fun as opposed to trying to cleverly influence you. It's right to bomb me unless you have something else driving you.

good luck jon

Thanks for hosting, SiriusCowKing. Great setup! It was a lot of fun.
Last few rounds were crazy close. If I hadn't gotten lucky when it really counted, Stealth99 would have had it!
I must say I'm glad the air raids are over though...
