edocsil - Florentinus ā€“ Town Hider has been killed.

With 14 alive it takes 8 to lynch. Deadline is Friday 14 March @ 1800 GMT.

Whoa whoa whoa... The town HIDER was killed?

Did Edoc not send in his night action, do we think?

Well, who he hid behind didn't die as well, perhaps he thought he was safer not hiding last night?

Hider isn't the biggest loss however, the 24 hour sessions were certainly interesting to analyse people's voting patterns, I am curious whether people chose eldario to try and push the votes away from the more scummier NoS...

I thought it was interesting too... I thought I was going to be lynched, so I voted personally for kgb because he was the only chance I had at staying alive. However once it was clarified that I wasnt to be lynched without a majority I voted for someone who randomly came back for the vote stage after being very minimally involved in the conversation... I thought it was fishy. Why others voted him? I dont know.

I would like some clarification on why others voted for eldario. There was very little on him going into the runoff stage.

If we all kept to our original votes we would have had an endless game of voting.

That is exactly why I voted him...

He has obviously been keeping up with the game, because he voted during the runoffs... Each one, I believe... And yet, he had hardly posted throughout the day...

Incorrect, eventually we would have eliminated all of the lowest votes and had two remaining, at which point a majority would have been reached (likely between NoS and kgb if we look to the first stage).

I think maybe the first two vote runoffs would have been most useful. After that, I can definitely see some people just switching to the most popular one.

I kept voting kgb mostly because he kept voting for no lynch which I thought and still believe to be terribly inefficient.

What has happened here. Is the poisoning a mafia kill or is that a third party kill and mafia were blocked. According to the roles , mafia poisoner kills on the night after application which might suggest something else going on here.
It also says Hider dying if he hides behind Mafia is optional to the moderator.

If this is the case, that is interesting. Does Jonty have to tell us if this is the case?

I switched my vote to eldario because benga wasn't getting enough support to be lynched, so I went with the second most suspicious scummarizor.

I didn't think the case on nosurvivors was strong enough to lynch him without giving him a chance to claim first, since he is an active member at least.

I've never played with a hider before... so can't help much on what happened there

Postby Lootifer on Mon Mar 03, 2014 4:03 pm

@ Mets and others. I take responsibility for starting the push on eldario, it does appear that people wanted to lynch a lurker over our minor scum-reads. My initial reason stands.

Lootifer wrote:- Eldario: Inactivity is meh, but his two posts show he was reading the thread but had no interest in providing content, skating by and the inactive/lurker I would be most comfortable lynching. null-scum

It appears people agreed with the underlined. But his death has proved valuable. Almost certainly 1-2 scum on his wagon and that second unresolved run-off is a great data point as there was only four people on it (including myself 8-[). I think that's a really good place to start today.

Preview edit: Waiiiiit! I just noticed something: Anarks vote on Eldario was missed (probably because he did it in a quote and it wasn't accepted); this would have resulted in a majority and hence a lynch in my understanding.... interesting.

As far as the other main options go: I probably would have voted for KGB but his wall of text on page 14 had a definite genuine feel to it. I dont agree with his reasoning, but I dont think scum would make a post like that on day one. I read him as a slightly misdirected towny.

NoS I was hesitant to vote for because of the soft-claim. However the flop onto Eldario is suspect. FoS NoS.

Busy day at work so won't be able to post more until later.

and how efficient was it to unwittingly lynch town saf? we didn't even get a claim out of the day but we won't let that happen again

And the easiest way to get them more involved is to be suspicious of or vote them

i found this post rather curious given all that's happened since, in conjunction with the run off voting...hotshot really didn't add much other than to question the mechanics behind some of the mod's posts and maintain his mantra of voting scummariners so bonus points for consistency but given the run off voting, i found newguy1 to be the most suspicous using hotshot's reasoning

i've played with newguy1 before so i know it's his style to lay back much like myself but given his track record in the run off (no vote cast, NoS, NoS, Eldario, Eldario)

Final vote count of the day:
show

First run off:
show

Changes:
Newguy shows up on the NoSurvivors bandwagon.
Iron Butterfly shows up on the Benga wagon.
Anarkistsdream shows up on Eldario wagon.
Metsfanmax moves his vote from Neb to kgb007.

Final vote 1st runoff:
show

Now it got interesting for me. These four all waited until the end, when wagons were going strong to cast their votes...perhaps hoping for a last minute lynch?

Eldario and Nag both came in under the gun and voted for NoSurvivors.
Virus and NoSurvivors took the other bandwagon.

2nd runoff:
show

This was low turnout...however, still interesting, as the Eldario wagon really picked up speed.

NoSurvivors switches votes again, newguy and Hotshot also join the growing wagon.
The other votes stick.

Lynch vote:
show

The Eldario wagon finally won out. Iron and virus added their votes.

I don't necessarily want to hang him but as hotshot mentioned, we need to get the inactive more involved, town or not, I think we should get a claim out of the day and newguy is where I would start given his voting record and quietness

Meh, GG I guess. In my opinion I was given a bastard role, and I can't think of a better character to be killed N1. Still surprised someone killed me, I would have been particularly easy to paint as scum.

Comments on the votes from my previous post...

Had Nagerous been in the running, I might have switched my vote to him. It almost looked like he was coming in late to force a lynch on NoSurvivors. I thought both him and Eldario were a bit suspect in their votes...considering they hadn't bothered to vote at all for the final vote count of the day. Then they both came in late to cast a vote on NoSurvivors.

On the second runoff, NoSurvivors, Hotshot and newguy all board the Eldario train. Now, I admit at the time, I couldn't blame them. Eldario did seem suspect with his sudden late vote...and since Nag couldn't be voted, Eldario might seem like the next best choice. However, given what we now know, any three of them could be scum seeking to push a growing wagon and using an easy excuse.

The final runoff can be chalked up to ending the day. The Eldario wagon wasn't to be stopped, it seems. Very funny how this wagon gained momentum with no information at all (funny as in strange, not "ha-ha" funny).

Out of those on the final Eldario vote (Iron, new guy, Hotshot, NoS, Virus and Lootifer) I would rank them this way in scumminess order:

Highly suspect:
NoSurvivors - He was my candidate for lynch after D1, so I'm still not feeling good on him. He jumped votes at what could be to save his skin.
new guy - got off the NoSurvivors wagon and onto the Eldario wagon when the tide turned.

Somewhat suspect:
Virus - started on KGB, but ended on Eldario.
Hot shot - started on benga, ended on Eldario.
Iron - similar the prior two.

Least suspect:
Lootifer - was on Eldario all along.

That's my thought. I'll hold off for some explanations from NoS and new guy before deciding my vote...

I agree on I would have voted nag.

I already explained my case... I was voting kgb to save my own skin, yes. I was in the vote count lead after the first vote and I thought that the only way I was to survive the day was to vote kgb. I did not want to vote him, but I knew I was town, so I had to take the chance. Pretty reasonable IMO. Once I found out that it didn't matter how many I had unless I was the majority, I voted for eldario. I was the first person to switch, so that proves I didnt join the "bandwagon". To be honest I understand why people did it. I now turn to nag, asking why he has been posting so frequently in the other mafia game goin on (he is active on the site) but doesnt bother to post here... care to elaborate nag?

Also, I am wondering if edoc hid behind mafia or if mafia killed him, as it is critical. Are we allowed to know that since it is optional for the mod? Or do we have to guess?

i get the point where people find it somewhat scummy to switch votes, but it kind of is the point of the system really, people with least votes in get eliminated so people have to switch, i missed the day 2 vote but the day 3 i kind of lost my patience with the system, it was clear that my initial vote on KGB was not gonna go into a lynch so i decided to switch, could have waited another 24 hours, but at some point what good is waiting, only gives maffia more time to Night talk and arrange there votes. to be honest, i have seen worse day 1 lynch results then town hider, if i understand correctly his only ability is to die basicly... well better lynch that then a cop or a doc. What worries me aswell though is the randomness of the lynch, it could have been a cop or a doc...

have to hurry to work.. end it here for now...

How have I been especially active in any of my games, I have apologised for inactivity for all of them, and all of them I have been targeted because of my inactivity, one of them I have had to replace as I can't handle so many games with long working hours and no free time at weekends. This was actually the last game I posted in at 11.08pm at night my time, and you will have to elaborate how I am so active on the site, my post count in recent months has been pretty minimal.

I voted for NoS as I had a re-read, I was only allowed to vote and not post my reasoning unfortunately and I came to the conclusion he seemed the most scummy for day 1..

I had an analysis of the vote counts, I could not see what the hell the case on kgb was and I found it very suspect that the fact that NoS had the most votes at this point:

NoSurvivors (3) - edocsil; new guy1; Nebuchadnezer
benga (2) - Iron Butterfly; Hotshot53;
Eldario (2) - Anarkistsdream; Lootifer;
kgb007 (2) - safariguy5; Metsfanmax;
No Lynch (1) - kgb007;

Then... virus came in the next post and voted kgb, almost to create another candidate in the running, and prevent the NoS lynch.. I thought there must be some link between virus and NoS for him to switch to the third party and push another candidate, so I voted NoS to increase his vote as I thought he seemed the most scummiest. If he came out mafia I definitely would then pressure Virus.

Virus also then moved onto the Eldario wagon, having started on the KGB wagon, all we know of him is he did not want NoS lynched, but he was happy for one of the other two to be lynched (one we know now as a pro-town tracker). Virus can you elaborate on why you do not find NoS scummy?

To be honest I find this rather suspect, so I am going to go back to my day one suspicions and vote noSurvivors if he comes up mafia, Virus is top of my list.
