This is really clunky, the way things are.
Let's do this: in your control panel you can assign account sitters.
Those people can then take your turns for you without even logging into your account, and the fact that someone is taking your turn for you will automatically show up in the game.
That solves so many problems with this site it is insane. No more need for handing out passwords to everyone. No more disasters when someone goes awol.
Additionally, it would be nice if sitters (not to mention the account owner him/herself) were notified when time was running low in a game.
Per-game assignment of sitters might be cool.
Could set a global limit on when sitters are allowed to take a turn (e.g. require 12 hours to have passed on turn timer), or make it account-owner settable.
Automatic sitter status:
Could be granted to clan members for clan games
Could be granted to team mates in regular team games.
Automation could be a user setting (e.g. check box - automatically grant sitter status to (certain?) clan members for clan games)
Pros:
Give sitters access only to current games and no access to all other account functions they have no need of accessing.
Prevent abuse of players taking each others' turns too often.
Prevent password flow (someone logs into an account they're sitting, finds passwords of 10 other players saved in that account, pretty soon they have every password on conquer club).
Easier to keep track of "multis", since account login ip addresses should be more consistent.
Better security overall. No need to change passwords if you fire a sitter, no need to inform all the other sitters of your new password.
Cons:
Someone has to write a few lines of code.
