Try uploading it somewhere and then giving the link instead of pasting it into the topic.

PS You've copied your old post as you say "This one lacks the bonus system" But actually - it now has the bonus system (and due to the limit only half of it!!)

yup edited. solving now.

i BUMPed into an old friend yesterday, his name is BUMPus. had a great time, enjoyed some BUMP beers at a local pub called "the BUMP pit", talked about the stock market and how it BUMPs up and down, we talked about the road quality in the city and how there are a lot of BUMPs that trash our cars, about how he was clinically dead for 3 minutes after his wife BUMPed him in the head with a frying pan after she caught him BUMPing the baby sitter. it was so fun BUMPing old memories. i hope we BUMP into each other more often.

This has been ready for ages

But one thing

Shouldn't you have to own all territories along the trade route?

initially i thought of this but it is impossible with the current xml.

let's say we have terit A and terit B and you need a trade route between them to get the bonus.

in the current xml system it is not possible to define bonuses if 2 terits are linked. the only way to do this is manually add each possible trade route plus all + and - modifiers. i don't think anybody has the power to do this as it would mean probably a few hundred thousands lines of code. or probably even more.

a way to work around this xml limitation is by marking several routes on the map and those are the only ones that offer the bonus. the drawback is that A and B can be connected through several other routes and this just causes confusion and limits movement.

so i decided to just leave the source and the destination. in most cases you'll also have to take some other terits to get them. also don't think that if you must own A and B you should neglect the other non bonus terits. after all the number of terits you own also can bring quite a bonus especially on a map this size.

                  Final Forge

---The Age of Merchants Map has reached the ‘Final Forge’ Stage. I've revived this thread from the pits of the Foundry furnace and have examined the contents. Nearly every major concern has been addressed. If there are any other current concerns, please make your voice heard. There will be two days for you to post any objections; if no one has posted any protest after two days the map will be deemed finished with the 'Foundry Brand' of approval and will be submitted for live play. If after two days there is still discussion going on it may continue until said discussion has reached the conclusion that the map has reached its final and polished version.

Post questions and concerns if any.

But I don't want to rush anything, like I said in the D-Day topic...it looks like there is still some discussion. :)

Congrats DiM...

Hey Andy, Do you think that maybe this post is a little out of date these days... most of the time you don't dredge up old topics - they're usually being bumped and crying out for you!!!
