So..... I don't really want to be the one to do this but time is always ticking and with such a large game it will be VERY hard to get enough momentum on a case for a lynch. I REALLY don't want us to sit idly for a week, then try to put random pressure with a bunch of inactive players on Day 1

1) Most standard mafias call for at least 2 claims. I think that is a minimum for a game this size.
2) Of course it depends on the claims, but ideally we want a lynch so we have SOME information to our advantage in future days
3) The longer we wait the harder it will be do achieve this. It will take time to build momentum on a person, especially with the crappy cases we can make Day 1. It will take time for that person to respond to that pressure with a counter case - or to even force a claim. Then repeat the process again and make a decision on a possible lynch. It would be easier if we have 12 players or so, but with 19 players.... I think this could be a difficult task so that is why I want to get things started asap.

And yes obviously I could be mafia, but at the same time I am drawing a lot of attention to myself with this post.

So.... the pressure HAS to be mostly random, there won't be any convicting evidence this early in the game.

My Proposal:
We all cast 1 single vote. Whoever has the most votes at X deadline, we pressure for a claim.

Even if people dont follow along, hopefully we get some solid progressive activity starting here.

Vote Skillfull for my 1 vote for random pressure. My favorite number is 3 and he is player 3. And I do not believe he has checked in yet.

To clarify.... I was hoping for "My Proposal", that everyone cast 1 vote and it sticks there until everyone has voted. So I am actually going to..

unvote

to save my vote and see what type of reactions I get with my post. If nothing trips the scumdar then I will have no choice but to "randomly" go skillful.

fair enough, what would you suggest we do to promote serious activity so that we have a non-random case? Or do you suppose it will come out naturally?

Do you like voting for inactives any more than voting randomly?

I would say this very discussion is a step in the right direction to helping prevent random cases. As far as inactives, they are not my first choice but I do not hesitate to fall back on them as the default lynch choice of day 1.

I agree with mob.

Right now skillfull, IB and commander didn t even check in and they have read their roles.
If it gets them to at least participate.. Most of the day 1s end up with a pressure on the inactives anyway. So I m fine to start from here.
I ll jump on the wagon on any of these 3.

Unvote vote skillfull

I cast magic missiles at the hearth. Then drop a flaming sphere on a mug of the bubbly stuff to see if it burns.

(Only played DnD once at summer camp and I was the wizard)

On a more serious note, of the people who have not confirmed yet, I think an inactive vote may be the best way to go. As much as it pains me to say this, Com9 probably is going to have activity issues despite being a good player when he is around. I'm concerned he's going to drag the game down at some point with inactivity.

For the most part, he has had alright activity in my RnR game. THough I think this or last week is college move in week for him and he hasn't posted much in the last few days.

By my reckoning, those who have only posted to confirm (or less) are: IB; skill; epi; comm9; aage & rish.

So I don't mind lynching any of them six. Now, I'm going to vote someone who already has a "serious" vote on them (*shock horror* getting on a bandwagon) well everyone voting a unique person accomplishes nothing, so that leaves skill & comm9. Skill's last post was in The Wire Mafia, this morning. Comm9's last post was in the R&R mafia back on Sunday, and said he would be away and would respond after Monday. So unvote, vote skillfunsniper33 as he's been more active around CC recently so therefore should be posting more often here.

Do bear in mind though, that it's only been 24h since this came actually commenced. That said, you do make a fair case on skillful in terms of his activity elsewhere... Let's see what he has to say.

LOTS of spam and fun things to read. Please continue to read along so I don't blame you of skimming. Wow this is extremely fun to post random junk on day 1 about having a few to many Dwarven ales, and maybe I should move to some of that moonshine. Man I love Day 1 activity where bandwagons start up very nice and quick. Everyone is so indecisive about there votes, are we finally getting to the real stage of things. I hope everyone has enjoyed the wonderful activity of day 1 so far.

As for my inactivity in posts I absolutely hate day 1 with all the random crap being thrown out. I know it is necessary but I am here reading along. And boy mob you sure are indecisive about that random number of 3.

As for everyone saying I haven't checked in yet I had confirmed, and I have talked with edoc to confirm my role.

Now for my random vote, Vote Stubbs

Fastposted by a few, I love that you uploaded that Mob, Thanks

I use puu.sh. I can take a picture at any time, within 1 second it uploads it and stores it as a URL on my clipboard. So all I have to do is click img tag and hit paste. Easy as Pie

Well it doesn't HAVE to be random. I would much rather vote for someone based on scumminess rather than randomness. But time isn't on our side and there are not any newbies here that I see so I don't think we are going to get a layup with a scum tell on Day 1.

The primary goal was to get out of joke phase, which I think I was successful at.
