INITECH XL HAD A PREMIUM PRIZE TO THE WINNER - awaiting confirmation that same will apply here
The pace of the Initech series has slowed, but the size of them will not shrink. On the heels of the successful Initech XL, I'm proud to announce a similar version... Initech XLI: European Extravaganza!
OVERVIEW This tournament will be a 80-player, 4-round, 28-map, 570-game tournament. Games will be standard, terminator, and assassin in nature. Players will play 9 games per round, with the bottom twenty players being eliminated after the conclusion of each round. Players reaching the final round will therefore play 36 games. The player with the most points accumulated after 4 rounds will be crowned tournament champion.
RULES All non-1v1 games will be sequential, flat, chained, automatic, fog with a 30-round limit.
1v1 games will follow the same rules but will have no spoils.
ROUNDS Each round will take place in a different geographic region of Europe, with one of the maps being a Europe-wide map. Each round will consist of the follow matches for each player:
That means a total of 93 points will be available to each player in each round. A cumulative total of 372 points will be available to each player in the tournament.
NOTE: points carryover and scores will not be reset at the start of a new round.
RESERVES In the event that a player drops out or loses premium prior to all game invites being accepted for the Round 1, their replacement will be taken from the list of reserves. Any points accrued by the player dropping out will be credited to that reserve player. However, no reserve player will be allowed to progress to Round 2 unless they score at least 5 points on their own.
In the event that a player drops out or loses premium after all invites in Round 1 have been sent and accepted, their replacement will be taken from the current standings. If the replacement is made between rounds, then the replacement player keeps his/her own score and we move forward with no other changes. If the replacement occurs mid-round (before all invites for that round are accepted) then the replacement player keeps his/her own score and also gets credit for any points accrued by the player dropping out during the round in question.
