GLG can get around this very easily; that is, start his favorite speed game and don't make it private; this way if corporals join, fine; the ranching / invite problem will then be non existent. Only one problem will then arise for GLG; his rank will drop rapidly and he clearly couldn't sustain that.

This report is without merit. I myself would play with GtG on a complex map if he would explain its mechanics after the game and would not consider it farming or ranching or whatever if it was 1 game with me and he provided that service.

The f*ck do you guys think SoC is? Report all the SoC instructors for ranching too.

Eddie this has nothing to do with how often they use the forums.

codeblue - i know what ur saying. We disagree on the result. If someone has played hundreds of games or been around for 1 year + (all but one of those posted have been per a year) then I don't care that they've never played a specific map or he's looking for people who haven't played the map. They should have enough experience to tell them to look into it and say no if they thought the risk was to great. Period. Nobody is forcing them to play those settings or go 2nd or create the game or anything. They are choosing to fonsonand if they don't realize that then they deserve to lose the points after creating those kinds of games.

Change the rules, make harder maps only playable after certain experience milestones are met, or anything. But it's not written in the rules and it's just silly to have this type of thing being punishable when it's not clearly written what you can or cannot do without pouring thru a tonne of C&A reports for "precidents".

May I suggest that many of us have a problem with how the points system is structured rather than a problem with GLG at this point? I've read many times (over the course of all GLG-related cases) where someone has mentioned that he is not a deserving conqueror. My thinking is if anyone else were conducting themselves in this manner, they'd go largely unnoticed, but GLG is under the microscope. Why? Well, I posit that much of it has to do with the fact that he's the Conqueror.

The best way to put it to him (and all future GLGs [because there'll be others]), is to alter the ranking system, not call abuse every time he finds a loophole. The onus is on the community to fix what are deemed as inherent flaws in the scoring system. Or we could even have 2 systems. The regular ranking we have now and a "true" ranking that values balanced map play, or team play, or what have you.

Or...or, you could get rid of City Mogul...

we have a saying here, cheats never prosper, sadly on cc they do.

I work in an environment where people look for loopholes in legislation which is exactly what GLG does, what CC needs to do is act smarter and block the loopholes as they appear, be more pro-active if you like, I pay my $25 bucks like most other people and its quite frankly galling to see someone constantly flout the system with relatively no comeback.

Lets call a spade a spade the guy is a cheat, maybe a legal cheat under current rules but a cheat nonetheless, i think everyone farmed by him should take a good shower afterwards

wow.. It really looks as if you have an unhealthy fascination with this dude bro... I wouldn't know you if you fell out of the sky and landed on my head so I'm not trying to flame or anything... I was just wondering what is motivating your crusade against this 1 player? Could you enlighten me on this point? Because for the life of me, I can't figure out what would drive someone so relentlessly to determine how someone plays an on-line game by time and time again starting these threads... I'm aware of the style of play the GLG has used to, at least in part, achieve his rank and I don't necessarily agree with it... but wow... do you go to sleep at night trying to figure out the topic of your next GLG abuse thread? I mean seriously... what has this guy done to you? If he's playing members with 100's or 1000's games, when do you stop worrying about the "morals and ethics" of CC gaming? Can't people defend themselves at all? Are people unable to make intelligent decisions and accept the consequences of those actions? And even if their decisions are not intelligent or informed, do they need you to champion their cause? I would hope not, but maybe they do. That said, if GLG farms/ranches me, please... PLEASE... don't start a C&A thread against him on my behalf... after 8000+ games I can decide who and how I play, and if it doesn't work out for me... oh well...

the voice these complaints have been going on for over 3 years via glg and his old user name for the style of play he uses come on he has a avi about ranching (something that is now against the rules.) he only became conquer last december. so no people don't complain because of the rank he has it is because of how he plays. and for someone who has been flaunting the system for that long to use it to get to top rank after several complaints via him is a joke. then after they bust him for that stle dont play any games for 3 or 4 months(apart from clan games), then as soon as he starts he uses another version of what he was warned not to do. ie all the same stuff to get the games but instead get them to make it. this is exactly what he was told to stop.

I'm having trouble still understanding who the victim is in this circumstance. A couple times I've had friends play with me on Classic and shit and they were noob as f*ck and yeah I beat them no problem while we chatted in game chat and if they asked for advice I'd give it, and they knew what they were getting into.

As I enjoy chess analogies... My USCF rating is 1350, and I'm frequently paired with 1900 players at my club when we have little tournaments. Now keep it real I can beat a 1750 player about 20% of the time but 1900 is too high, in reality I got no chance. But I know that and it's all good and the opponent will almost always go over the game with me after and point out where I had a good position and where I weakened it or failed to respond appropriately to his threat. That is more than worth the 5-10 point loss to get that valuable information.

Now I can bitch and shit about oh no the 1900 player is inflating based on playing 1350s but it's not like that. I am just motivated to get up to their level, using the little bit of information they gave me. If GlG was not giving advice and shit (even after the game) about the map then I'd be like oh what is this, he's getting nubs to play him so they can say they played the Conqueror, but if he's teaching them then gtfo. Why don't you teach the noobs, or just let them suck at complex maps. The CC society is very stratified and I consider it a service that such a prestigious player like GlG is willing to donate his valuable time to help a noob out, above and beyond the 5 points he gets for a win. GlG has my support.

Really? A: I've never started a thread on GLG prior to this. B: He obviously cannot follow instruction and/or tips from previous threads. C: As I already stated, I couldn't careless what this guy does on this site aside from taking advantage of other users.
One thing is for certain RHP, you wouldn't have to worry about him playing you; he would never.

haha... well...

I guess the previous threads against him with noobs and such had some merit... but ranks with 1400+ points and 100's if not 1000's of games? come on bro... you're really seeing them as victims? Bit of a stretch, no?

this rule was added and he was warned to stop. it comes under the Unwritten Rules. which he has been warned for already....

Basically, in these 1 vs 1 games, the opponent does not have an idea of how to play the map or how to engage in the settings of the game that was made. It's like you constructed a way to make a player become like a "new recruit", because you made a game that he will play for the first time in which you have played countless times already. Regularly doing this to different (unsuspecting) players is a systematic way of ranching points for yourself.

These players are not unsuspecting, they are well aware through communication with GlG in live chat or wall posts that they will be receiving training/advice on the map.

Furthermore City Mogul is not a difficult map. It's no Das Schloss and it's not even Arms Race. If a LT or S1C can't play CM then what the f*ck do you expect them to do? They can't join SoC because their rank is too high, they won't get training from the rank elitists who are yelling for GlG's head in this thread because all you'll say is "gg" or "ez points $$" without wanting to help someone out.

If GlG was offering this service on a map I was interested in learning then I would unquestionably play him and probably lose though I'd try my best and then benefit from his advice and I'd then be better at the map.

I really don't understand why this valuable service is under fire, except that many do not understand the motivation behind wanting to help people, and must try to twist it into something more nefarious.

Seemed like a easy fix to me. Now the fact he was warned I think is the issue here. Why not just throw up a speeder as we all do when we want to play one. Hitting people's wall to fill a 1v1 game that you know if he started it would fill rather quick. The fact that it might be one you fast freestylers is obviously why he does not.

That really is the whole point I think everyone's is making. The master of a map and setting is not gaming with people to teach them what he knows. Who the hell would do that, and for what. Thinking that people are just wanting to give him points is also crazy, to learn a few things. They see his high rank and take the bait.

This would of never came up had it not came up before. Just my thoughts had he not been warned I don't think many people would be scratching there head at why he's back at it.

ok lets put this another way you guys might understand..

if these players were just off n/r's would this be abuse

many of you saying this is ok are stating because of the time these players have on site. so stop and think and do this again.

if these players were just off n/r's would this be abuse, like the last case via him.

so you have thought about this now go read king a's warning to glg. did it say for picking these kinds of players or did it say he has found a way to make them look like this. he is using all the same stuff he used before to get the games.

so he is doing the same thing but longer running members still inexperianced at the map and settings

like king a said people wont be busted if this is odd games which we all can do every now and then but when you only play them style games then it is classed as ranching which is now against site rules.

lets do this again

is he doing the same as before forget what ranks they are or time on site.

are the players inexperianced on this map and settings

read king a's report

does it say anything about rank or does it say how he gets the games.

is he getting the games the same way....
now let me tell you the response

Yes he is using the same style to get games as before this equals =

he is still ranching players which equals

king a has banned ranching and he was the first and warned for it. which equals

2nd major infraction and since ranching is equal to farming a point reset.

Ban SoC instructors then for farming/ranching since they are always playing low ranks.

Playing someone and teaching them the map changes the dynamic of the situation. It is different than just playing someone to win points

well dibben i could not be bothered to add your comment to the post above....

but if these players are giving points to glg to get info on a map after the game then they are intentionally throwing games, point dumping etc and all of them should be warned for doing such as it is against cc rules to dump points(auto site ban) to another player, and as stated earlier he does not advize during the game only after so if they were playing on the understanding he would advize during then he is ranching them into games.

Again, "unsuspecting" player who couldn't tell the difference is a stretch for any of these guys. Unskilled on that map, surely. Reduced to "new recruit" even tho hundreds of games experience and year(s) on the site? No.

omg 3 years on the site i still hate waterloo and avoid it.. but if a top rank invited me to it on the promise of advice during the game then yes i proberly would... but the fact is he dont give them advice on the map. and picks players who have never played it on settings that secure him first turn and win the map.

Who cares what he says to get them to join a game? Is it immoral? SURE! Is it against the f'ing rules? No.
Nobody's saying this is the most stand up way to win a game. But its not against the rules to tell someone something that isn't true (fog of war anyone? "omg he's got a huge stack on dakar!" when its a 2 troop territory)

He's targetting experienced players who can say no at anytime.

As for your previous comment its completely bullocks, they aren't "throwing games" to him. The accusation is becoming more and more like a bad joke.
