From a townie's perspective clever was not totally down. However, the mafia knew he wasn't the doctor and that it would only be a matter of time before he was exposed.

The only other possibility is if one of the masons is scum, which seems unlikely.

Looks like Sully has to hammer you now though Doom >.<. I hope the town learns from this when another townie drops... Looks as if the scum not killing anyone last night worked to their advantage.

I will hammer. I never believed the claim to start with and I don't see his arguement that spiesr could be scum. There was no reason to out chap at all. Vote Doom

Random question for you Sully, do you have to hammer yourself if you are at L-1? Also, what if if 2 people are at L-1, is it your choice of who to hammer or do you have to go with whomever got there first?

I have a lot of leeway. I'd say yes (probably) to the first question and I can choose to the second.

I have to say one thing: If it was a fake claim (Wolfgang Puck being a flavor cop), it was brilliant.

Well since this is taking a while, anyone got a plan if Doom isn't mafia?

The best I can come up with is that Soundman blocks whomever he finds scummy, I investigate someone I haven't yet in the slim hope that there is actually anything that I can still find. Assuming that night actions don't turn up anything useful we then make cases against those who aren't semi-confirmed and then lynch whichever of those looks scummiest.
You got any better ideas?

Panic.

Fear.

And most of all, anger.

Unexpectedly thwarted at every turn, the Kingpin had little recourse. All his plans had failed, all his minions had failed. But he was destined for the top! He had climbed from the bottom, and nothing would stop him!

He was now forced to use his own actions to try and complete his goals. He had to go out into the community and manipulate the townspeople. Suave and commanding, he told the people he was a cop, and that he would help them in their hunt. But soon, word reached the townspeople of bribes accepted, crimes overlooked, and other nefarious deeds of the comic supervillian.

And so here he was, trapped. Those persistent wretches howled for his death at the door, blood in their eyes. The door burst open, like a levee holding back too much water. All his plans for naught, his time was over, and he watched with grim acceptance his impending ruin.

Doom Yoshi, The Kingpin, mafia GF, has been lynched. With no threats left, town prevails!

show: character sheet

show: role pms

Some notes:

I intended for spiesr to be an insane cop, kind of a bastard role. I hoped to create some extra discussion this way, because he would get some false results. The rapid death of the other two investigative roles made me think twice. I probably should have stuck to the insane cop seeing as how mafia went down so quickly.

I lol'd at ghostly. Major props to him, he had the entire scum faction pegged. If only he hadn't been so bullish about it, he might have lived to endgame.

When I was drawing up the game, I figured scum would be too powerful, but it appears that they got railed. I think Saf's early mistake in the fakeclaim really hurt them. I'll try harder next time to make fairer roles I guess.

Please, give me any input, thoughts, or criticisms so I can do better next time.

I must really thank all of you for a great game, even though mafia got routed. 70+ pages of discussion for my first modded game, and filled with lots of good discussion. I enjoyed this immensely.

So officially, Strike Wolf wins first place, town second, and mafia loses.

Also, did we just play the amalgamation of TV shows, books, and movies that you like?

Were scum given fakeclaims? If not dooms claim was awesome. Very nearly worked out for him.

As well as CLEVER's. Though it had a flaw in it, it was still a pretty good claim for this being his what, 1st game?

That and CLEVER's. That claim had us arguing for at least 15 pages if you put it all together. Very good claim if they werent given, and very good claims if they WERE.

They weren't given claims. They ad to come up with it themselves (although I bet they talked about that)

Glad you brought this up. I meant to mention this in the endgame post. I made this game very open, so that fakeclaiming was something that was left up to the individual. I'm not a big fan of provided fakeclaims, but understand the need when the theme is closed. Bascially, my game was unthemed, and the story was just fluff.

So yes, I was really happy with Doom's effort there. Unfortunately, I think claiming a fourth investigative was excessive, and didn't help him at all. Somebody else fakeclaimed, which I appreciated, but it turn out well for them either iirc.

I kinda want to bring back fakeclaiming, which is an art, really, that isn't so prevalent nowadays.
