Since it seems there's no more serious concerns, I decided to upload PNG versions of the map.

Now lets start a rousing round of kumbaya.

In regards to the map, I don't think I have anything else of substance to suggest. I could suggest things like moving Scotland's and New Siberian Island's names up a little so they aren't on top of some of the islands, since most other watery region names don't overlap.

But I don't really care, and still like the map.

Personally I think it's better to have the names as close to the land areas as possible, so that it's clear which region they belong to.

I honestly don't think a nudge would confuse anyone, and you probably don't either. And I don't think you need to really do these suggestions since I'm more than satisfied.

Best,

I see... I see a tall, handsome man in your future. I see a family member whose name starts with... M... no, N? R? It's R, isn't it? I also see... something about car problems. Oh, and you will go on a surprise vacation.

natty I'm checking your xml right now. I noticed a thing that is not related with xml but I want to post it right now before i forgot about it. On the small map, in the legend Southeast Asia doesn't have the glow like the other bonuses. But wait to change it, maybe i found other things so I don't want you have to edit the map 1000 times for small things. ;)

the xml looks ok.

In addition to the missing glow there're a couple of suggestions:

Small Version:
Bulgaria, did you tried to swap armies and name to not have it so close to the romania one?
Crimea can be moved a bit to right
Baltics can be moved a bit to left
Novaya Zemlya can be moved a bit up
North Nei Mongol/Liaoning, mmm don't like so much the current placements of troops
    Svalbard can be moved down
Kyushu can be moved to left
    Don't like at all U.A.E.

Large Version:
    Shakalin
    New siberian islands
    Novaya Zemlya
    Svalbard
Faroe Isalnds, is there a better placement for troops?
U.A.E. can be placed above the troops instead beneath them

Oops... I remember noticing it some days ago, but apparently I forgot to do anything about it. I'll fix that.

These can be done.

thenobodies80 wrote:Novaya Zemlya can be moved a bit up

All of these are outside/next to the land area on purpose. In each case, the land area is so small or inconvenient shape that the army numbers won't fit comfortably inside them - the numbers would overlap with the land borders, and blue numbers are very hard to read when they are on top of black lines or such. I think having the number next to the land is a better solution than littering the map with ugly army circles.

thenobodies80 wrote:North Nei Mongol/Liaoning, mmm don't like so much the current placements of troops

I don't really see much alternatives here... where exactly would you want me to move them?

thenobodies80 wrote:U.A.E. can be placed above the troops instead beneath them

I had it that way earlier but the label was harder to read there...

I tried this, but the name didn't fit properly that way, it was really awkward and cramped, so it has to be this way I'm afraid...

I tweaked the other coordinates as much as I thought was feasible, here's test result screenshots in one convenient image:

maybe you can bend Romania and Bulgaria down
and put armies above the name
so you can use all the upper part of Romania

Nope, it doesn't fit that way. Either the label won't fit or the numbers will cover the label. There just isn't a better solution for those labels, I tried various things for them but the current arrangement works the best.

Ukraine is pretty large, why not move the Romania border over a few pixels allowing the 88s to move a tad. Also, mov Bulgaria name into Greece a little. This should clear any issues up.

Yeah this just seems like to be getting into the "change for the sake of change" territory.

Bulgaria label can't move into Greece because the border between Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey is very small and it needs to be clearly visible and not obscured by territory labels.

Honestly, I really don't see the issue here. The numbers fit in the territories, the labels are clear and readable, and it's clear which label belongs to which country. I have no problem with tweaking the borders of countries when there is a good reason for it, but I don't want to do it when it's not necessary.
