Agreed - amusing that some players have been trying to work it out when grease monkey has been doing it anyway.

So, having to add 1+1+1+1+1-3+1+1.... is a skill? More like an annoyance. o_O

nicely done

i thought the card counter was nice but the improvement to the search page was great. hitting the back button to search for each different map or game type was getting annoying because you had to rechoose everything. gj.

I like this!

Brother the gentlemen who wrote this (Pasted Below)........well....please listen to what he has to say...and then throw it out the window.

All the information he's looking for is only a click away...
and now things seem much more organized.
This is the best way to do things...which obviously.....is why you've done them.

Thanks for the changes.

[quote="ColinM"]Lack, love the card counter, but please can we have My Games the way it used to be? Or at least to have it as an option?

It was nice to to be able to see quickly and easily how many people are left to join in new games (and who has joined already), as well as to look in on games I've been elimianated in.

Card counting is as easy as 1(scroll up) 2 (scroll up) 3 (scroll up)

We're talking Risk cards here....
not a 5 shoe blackjack game at a casino.

Everyone counts (and knows how) the cards.
And let's say this takes away the advantage from someone who might have taken extra time to count them(against someone who doesn't)...
well all this does is create another challenge.

You just have to play smarter all in all.

The changes are great...and although I could suggest a few more...
I'm definately happy with these for now : )

Card counting is a SKILL! So many players dont bother and rightly pay the price! Why take away that advantage?

Besides which, it was easier to quickly scroll through games/elim/recent when they were on the same page.... dont particularly like that either =S

Love this update, it is nice to know that there is a chance an opponent is going to cash in cards next round for strategizing.

Also double kudos on the My Games tabs... brilliant.

ive loved every other update but please take this one off.

So people with greasemonkey should just have a special advantage for no reason?

Crap
Playing round a table you can see what cards are being held!
(Even aside from a rules requirement in Risk to disclose the number of cards)

The skill is predicting where your opponents will place their troops, where they will attack etc etc. Counting cards is not a skill...unless of course you're talking blackjack.

Great updates. I love the card counter and my games links. It is much more efficient for me to have those other games not cluttering my screen. I would also like to state that I would love to have the turns up games at the top, but lackey has already admitted that this is getting worked on :-) Is there a way in the future to have the number of games a player has deadbeated be a part of their stats in their profile just so we can see who the common deadbeats are(deadbeats as in didn't take the turn 3 times in a row) not just missing a turn here or there? Keep up the great work.

yeah, i agree with almost everyone else. Its a great update, especially the card counter and the improved game finder.

Even though i have the greasemonkey extension for cc that already counts cards, its really useful when i use someone else's com for playing. That way i can easily know how many cards my game mates have.

Also i find the game finder more useful. I like standard, terminator and assasin games the same, and now i can select all three to show results for all three categories.

Great work lack!

Same here... Making it too easy for people to count cards

Postby KingCoolDaddy on Mon Apr 16, 2007 8:56 am

[quote="ajaxjoeri"]Don't like this change:

Card Counters
No more scrolling through the game log to figure out how many cards your opponents have!

It gave the player something extra if he was willing to put some effort into it. And it was easy now you could sent notes to yourself.

I agree - I always liked being able to count cards and have an advantage over someone not willing to put in the effort. Now even a noob could do it!

But there was no need for the effort! Grease Monkey did it for you!
And those with Grease Monkey had the advantage over Newbies

I think you should have the option to turn it on or off. With greasemonkey, it's redundant again. Or if you just want an extra challenge.

On the blackjack note, all you need is an autistic brother.

I'm set, then! :P

Also, I agree with Pancake, showing number of cards should be togglable. :)

I'm not sure if this is the proper thread for this complaint. I have just experienced, what I consider to be, an abuse of the team mate deadbeat issue. playing a 4 player doubles game, we were in the lead very slightly. The other team then missed 2 turns each and the first player missed his third turn and was kicked out, his team mate then returned to play his next turn and received triple the amount of armies he was entitled to (having missed 2 rounds). The problem with this is that he had just inherited all of his team mates territories, and therefore received triple the amount of armies based on approximately double the amount of territories(his and his team mate's). This seems like a really bad loophole in the rules. Could someone please explain to me why this is acceptable, or if it will be fixed.
