The only mountains you are going to have trouble with is Norway and Norrland. The top of the mountains touch the sea. People will have trouble with the border with Finland then and ask what does Svalbard attack? Move them down a touch or move the land/sea outline up. Either way solves the problem.

Another thing with the mountains is the size. It might be nice to see some varying sizes depending on where they are.

Mt Everest is the same size as Mt Galdhøpiggen.

One thing that does look a little weird to me is that you have "tundra" from birdseye perspective but not the mountains.

btw darker mountains look much better :D

To counter this, how about putting 2 or 3 trees into each area you have. Use the same style as for the mountains. Dark brown line with short dark green branches

I'll see what I can do.

They already are. Look closely.

The entire map is from birdseye perspective. The mountains are symbolic.

Anyway, I'll have to see how tundra is commonly represented on maps.

...the only thing I found was this:

the mountains do look better now but i think the assault arrow looks to much like a mouse cursor and not like an assault arrow.

There already is one, it's just in scale with the rest of the map. Look closely, and you can almost see it in the upper left corner of pixel 592x60.

The tundra looks really nice now. Might be an idea to give the /\ some dark green. I believe you will still have problems in Norway though. the arrow looks better now but lighten it up so it can be seen easier.

The arrow is as light as it's going to be... See, making it lighter would make it look out of place in the general style of the map. However, I might be able to do something else to make it stand out a bit more.

As for the tundra, I can give the ^ some very slight green hue, let's see how it looks.

Norway looks pretty ok to me now, I'm going to have to get a 2nd opinion on this...

I think maybe if you took the black "lines" from Tundra borders and then made a layer underneath Tundra the same size then spread and blur it it'll look better and coincide more with the mountains look.

Basically blend the tundra into the regoins next to it (Expect sea obviously)??

well this much more than an excellent draft
why is this map still waiting for his gameplay stamp
and even graphic one as you are nitpicking for arrow and line colours

STAMPS and BETA please

great map
great graphics
well done natty

if only all new maps could that clean
De gueules à la tour d'argent ouverte, crénelée de trois pièces, sommée d'un donjon ajouré, crénelé de deux pièces
Gules an open tower silver, crenellated three parts, topped by a apertured turret, crenellated two parts

yes the current arrow looks much better.

not too sure about the green hue at the tundra, in theory it sounded better then it looks in real, in fact i like the grey tundra better. but i guess you'll find something out for the tundra as well.

Meh, I tried it and it didn't look good at all. But I changed the layer mode of the outlines so they look a bit less strong.

Well I guess the CA:s just can't keep up with the lean mean mapmaking machine...

I had to reduce the opacity of the tundra pattern. I kept looking at it and it started reminding me of some kind of female hygiene product packaging.
