You think someone might fake claim doc? :?

It's not beyond the realm of possibility. His 'Lynch me or the mafia will kill me, either way its a sad loss - but such is the way of D1!!' kind of smells like a mafia ploy I've seen before, but we might not be able to do much now.

This post struck me as scummy. Andy, while that may be true, it's not worth risking our potential doc for it without a counterclaim, even given BG's valid point.

i don't think he ment it in a scummy way. i'm not realy sure either if the doc is who he sais he is, but we just can't risk lynching him right now, and i think andy has a point, and andy also sais basicly the same as we all do, except slightly different wording. i don't know why out of all people you choose andy to pick on. i'd almost say you're acting scummy here.

How does Andy explain the "we might not be able to do much now". Maybe I am reading a little too much into that, but if Andy is accidentally letting slip that he and his mates will be able to do something later ... who are his mates and is later ... night. Just asking.

Please excuse my delays in responding.

I think you are looking pretty hard at the word might. I think might was used to refer to the apparent (due to unvotes) "shifting momentum away from a vote."

I mentioned that your post was kind of scummy because I've seen a fair number of mafia (and inexperienced mafia, since you said you haven't played Mafia much) employ the 'You'll all be sorry now!' mantra in a last ditch effort to stave off lynching.

Alright so honestly I was looking well into Hippo. His comments weren't damning anyways but they were a very good lead considering it was day 1 and no one else seemed to have dropped so many scum tells. Andy's comment about the doc was a little bit weird if not just poorly timed but I don't read too much into it.

Iron Butterfly kind of stands out for sticking to his joke vote so long but with the inactive wagon happening so fast he didn't really have a good opportunity to vote anyways. No one else really stood out to me on my first read through so I'm not really sure who to vote.

As I suggested earlier... perhaps we should put pressure on Leehar to make an appearance? He has yet to make a comment of any sort.

That sort of pressure only works if he is reading the thread, but not actively posting. Perhaps the mod just needs to send him a prod?

Just was reading through the last couple of pages (I'm surprised this is moving so much faster than the other mafia game I'm in) and saw Andy commenting on my contributing diddly squat so I should probably pipe up.
(fyi I'm not popping up just because of Iron's coincidental vote earlier in the day - would probably have commented immediately after soundmans vote if I was submarining that much!)
So yeah, sorry for checking in every 2/3 days, but day 1 is also usually a pain since there's not really much solid to go on except the joke votes and where I still have scars from a sad doctor lynch on it.

So otherwise, discounting the 'oh, your post looks scummy, let's lynch you' randomness, and considering the hippo case broke down so effectively (reading through it you must admit, "I'm a doc, unvote, unvote, unvote, unvote, ..." was pretty damn funny), Are there any other effective cases that could be built? (I must admit I suck at the whole going back and quoting through stuff that looks suspect that people like strike do pretty nicely)

And then, with damage limitation on the mind now that Hippo's claimed, how can we protect him better? Hopefully they'll be a roleblock/bodyguard/jailkeeper/busdriver etc kind of roles to keep him alive, so it's not really as bad a scenario as people suggest?

Btw, with Hippo's vacation coming up, will he still be able to contribute his services (night actions etc)? How's that gonna work for others of us also going on vacs?

Edit: just saw the last 3 comments? Who was Iron's joke vote for so long on? I was only picked by him recently?
And yeah, spiesr had the right of it for why I didn't pop up after the 'pressure', tho it must be admitted I did catch up a while ago as well but just didn't post because I didn't know what to say.

I don't think there are any active cases anymore. Looking back, the only two cases we really had was on SG7 for inactivity, and TheHippo for his erratic-ness. I have had some questions about Soundman, but not even really enough to put a FOS on him, since his erratic-ness may not be dissimilar to TheHippo's.

I don't think there have been any other posts about other suspicions.

Nice to see you Leehar!

I anticipate that my holidays should not interfere too much. There may be the odd occasion where I may be inactive for 48 hours at a time but I will endeavour to avoid that. The first such delay will happen in about 8 hours time and I hope it won't take much longer than that (flights, transfers, finding somewhere to get access to internet and the like!). If there becomes a problem then I will be sure to let you know but I don't think it will affect anything other than uncharacteristic quietness!

Strike's a recent addition as well isn't he? Why are people voting for him other than him being an experienced mafia campaigner and always a threat? ;)

They just haven't unvoted, I guess. I haven't seen anyone vote strike, they were probably there since SG7.

Its not, its just the second time hippo has not read my vote count correctly. Players on the left are in alphabetical order and are the players being voted. The players on the right are the votes cast.

Hippo unvoted too, so it will be off the next vote count.

I have no game altering case to bring at the moment sadly, I am just waiting for something to come up.

Can't you just use a more easier method on your vote counts then? The colours also aren't really easy on the eye.

Just put in who's been voted on, and leave a list of the players in the op, or in spoilers everytime you post if you want to show who's still voteable?
