is it really tomorrow? think about it... if its 'tomorrow' then wouldn't it be today? because as soon as it turns 'tomorrow' we would call it today correct?

I think what soundman is really saying is that, he'll start D2 tomorrow, but the problem is that tomorrow never comes, today never leaves, and yesterday seems to always be a day late.

All seemed calm. The townspeople were feeling good about the last day and most went home feeling safer. But for some it was a false sense of security. Isaiah40 was walking up to his front door lost in thought. His job as a Watcher was a demanding one and he was wiped. Time for at least an hour or two of sleep before the day started. He never saw the shadowy figure waiting for him in his living room. He's body crumpled to the floor with a bullet hole through his right temple. A small smile touched the lips of the assassin as he stepped over the still warm body of his victim. The next day was already looking better. For him at least.

Isaiah40 - Town Watcher - Has been killed.

Day 2 start!

Wonderful. The town watcher is dead. We made a good lynch yesterday, but the events of last night give us little – if any – new information to work with. One thing we can draw is that isaiah40 wasn’t lying about anything he said – but as he didn’t live long enough to watch a single person – he didn’t know any more than the rest of us. But he would have had no deliberately steer us in the wrong direction. So there’s that.

We also know that Sully had EVERY reason to lead us in the wrong direction. He made the first real vote of the day – voting for shieldgenerator7 – and advocating for a speed lynch. (Rodion also followed suit.) I think it would be far too easy to say, “Well, clearly shieldgenerator7 is town, because Sully wouldn’t have tried to speed lynch a fellow scum,” but then again – he might very well have done just that. (Shieldgenerator7 also later voted for himself... raising the possibility that I looked too far into this small detail.) Are speed lynches common? Has there ever, in the history of mafia, been a successful speed lynch of the VERY first person that the VERY first person to vote voted for, just for the sake of lynching SOMEONE? (That’s only a semi rhetorical question. Other than in high school theater class, I’ve never played this before.) So there’s that.

Day one then followed through a series of joke votes (which was kind of a carry over from the confirmation phase – which I started on page 6 after making a joke about popping my own mafia cherry and then voting for Hippo for being suspiciously nice to me.)

The next non-joke vote of the day was by MoB Deadly, who voted for Isaiah. Didn’t give a reason – joke or otherwise – but it was the first vote without a whimsical reason attached... and it was also the first vote given to the person who ended up being killed by the mafia last night. So there’s that, too. (Though, I’ll acknowledge the motive of his death was likely the admission of being the town watcher. But – couldn’t leave that out.)

There had really yet to be any substantial detective work, questioning or debate up to there – at which point chapcrap began voting for people purely based on inactivity. He voted for Isaiah for not posting enough, then switched that vote to myself for the same reason. (A few post later he switched his vote to teegee, again for the same reason.)

At this point, Isiah said this:

isaiah40 wrote:Unvote
Chap, my RL job sometimes prevents me from posting a lot at times. So no one has said anything except for joke votes. Let's get down and dirty!! Who's who?? I am ____________.

Mr. Squirrel counted the number of characters in the blank line – 12 – and tried to figure out a mafia role that was that many characters in length and voted for isaiah40 on the grounds that “mafia doctor” is 12 characters long. Isaiah40 countered by saying that he had just held the underline button down until it seemed long enough (which I’ll accept as truth, as citing the number of characters in your role is listed in the rules thread as grounds for being banned from future mafia games... though it is also worth noting that ‘town watcher’ is 12 characters in length.)

The next chunk of the day was spent with TeeGee as the center of attention. He very quickly garnered quite a few votes for being inactive. Sully switched his vote from shieldgenerator7 to TeeGee – but only after Hippo, MoB Deadly and chapcrap had already done so. I followed suit (purely band wagoning, I’ll admit) and then finally TeeGee spoke up to defend himself and voted for Hippo in the process. (Also worth noting that Squirrel called us all out on band wagoning TeeGee for little reason.)

MoB Deadly was the first person on the wagon to unvote TeeGee – and switched his vote to Sully, (which turned out to be spot on, but is less poignant as there was no reason given.).

Critical moment of the day – in my view – was chapcrap’s response to MoB Deadly’s unvote.

chapcrap wrote:Why unvote TeeGee when he has given us nothing? All he did was show up. That's not enough to take my vote off.

A fair question, in my opinion. Chapcrap didn’t come out and say “But ggguyyys, he’s ssscuuummm!” but simply asked what was the point of changing a vote if there wasn’t a good reason. The “editing his post” bit came next. TheGeneral2112 said he almost wanted to vote for TeeGee because of the faux paus, and Squirrel told him “no need to get all aggressive.”

I think the actual event of editing the post is entirely irrelevant – but the reaction to it is not. Here’s why. Sully chimed in at this point to defend TeeGee. His defense had nothing to do with the substance of the game, but was instead criticizing TheGeneral2112 for his treatment towards TeeGee. Sully knew he himself was The Godfather. If a townie had made a mistake, and another townie was setting up to lynch him for it – The Godfather sure as shit wouldn’t have stepped in to say “Now, you kids play nice!” Squirrel called him out on this very thing – and asked Sully to explain himself. His response was as follows,

Victor Sullivan wrote:I feel like TheGeneral is using a scapegoat-type method to get TeeGee lynched. It was clearly a newb mistake and didn't have any malicious intent. I feel like TheGeneral is just using it as an excuse to get a townie lynched.

I repeat. If one townie were using a scapegoat-type method to get a townie lynched, The Godfather himself would not have stepped in.

TeeGee then piped in and responded to Sully’s defense of him.

TeeGee wrote:I'm a townie?? What's a townie?? and am I one?
Maybe I am, maybe I'm not?

But the question I want to know is, what does sully actually know? Who told him?

have I said too much? or not enough?

Following this, TheGeneral2112 made a long summary of some of the events leading up to his accusation of Sully. (I’m on page 12 now, by the way.) Sully and The General went back and fourth quite a bit. Sully continued to defend TeeGee. The General rest his own case against Sully and the votes started to pour in. Hippo. Isaiah40, zimmah , (usAir states that he’s not convinced.)

TeeGee shifts his vote from chapcrap to TheHippo (for inactivity) and Hippo defends himself by saying he had nothing useful to add. (Sounds legit, I didn’t either.)

After some more discourse - Sully then claims the role of Town Watcher. Votes shift around at this point (for good enough reason that I won’t recap who switched to who. There was plenty of reason to switch a vote off of Sully until Isaiah counter claimed.)

Sully – The Godfather – was lynched. Isaiah40 – Town Watcher – was killed.

So going back to the few things I thought were noteworthy early on – I conclude with two things.

More likely of the two to be a coincidence: Sully – who we now know was The Godfather - and Rodion – who has been awfully quiet – both advocated to speed lynch shieldgenerator7 right out the gate without offering any explanation.

Less likely of the two to be a coincidence: TeeGee was threatened with a lynch for a seemingly innocuous error – and Sully The Godfather felt the need to step in and stop this from happening when it would have benefited his cause if a townie were lynched for poor reasoning.

With that said – major FOS on TeeGee. I cannot see any reason why Sully would intervene when the town was threatening to lynch a fellow townie. I would be intrigued to see any and all rationale as to why this ascertainment is misguided.

PS: Sorry if I got any of your names wrong.

When did this happen? I am not denying it, but I definitely can't find it. I think I voted like this.
1st jokevote isiah (he was the poster above me)
2nd vote TeeGee inactive (first non jokevote)
TeeGee talked, that was enough for me
3rd jokevote Sully (temptation reference, and again he was the poster above me)
4th after a delay - kept my vote on sully because I thought he was scummy.

The rest of your case  I think thats a good read. There was no reason for VS to stick up for TeeGee editing at all. If anything he should of submarined a little and see if it got traction, and then put his vote on as well.

vote TeeGee

I forgot to change the first sentence. I figured out you considered that a non-joke vote. I am pretty sure the speed lynching was VERY much jokevotes.

Hey guys. Don't expect much out of me today. Someone hit me over the head last night and now I don't have a vote. I've no idea who it was, but the flavor made it sound like it was an accident from someone on my side. So whatever townie has the silencing power, you need to be careful with that. Every time you silence a townie, the mafia is a little more powerful that day. Could be a game-changer later on.

I also can only post four times during the day. This being one of them. I'll try to save them for later when more info is out.
