Due to some requests and experience gained in the doubles tournament, I will be changing the format slightly for the tournament. There will now be 3 rounds of 3 games played at once, instead of all games played at the same time.
10 teams, Settings will be auto, sequential, no spoils, chained, foggy. Whoever wins the most games, wins the tournament.
In the event of a tie, the 2 (or more) tieing teams will play each other 3 times, Round Robin style, simultaneously. This process will repeat itself until a winner can be determined.
As we will now be playing only 3 games at once, freemium players are now allowed in the tournament as long as they keep 3 slots open for this tournament. I require at least 98% of turns taken from each player. There will also be a point requirement of 1700 average for the team, at the time of signing up.
In the event a team needs to replace a player, or two, this may be done once during the tournament. Teams will have 48 hours to join games. If games haven't been joined by the 48 hours, an immediate win is granted to the other team. In the unlikely event that a team cannot, for whatever reason, finish the tournament, then I will first attempt to find a replacement team. If I cannot find a replacement team within 48 hours, then I will disregard all wins/losses by other teams against said teams, and the tourney will go on as if that team had never joined.
If interested, please post here with you and your teammates' names. Thanks!
Also, I will be playing in this tournament as well.
Everyone to here is in. I will update the first post when I get more time. Too many games, not enough time logged in to mess with forums too much right now. Thanks guys.
we play a lot of triples games together, and we think this map rocks, so naturally we'd like to join this tournament. However, we're used to playing only a few games at a time and focussing on each game individually to try to find the best possible moves. That's practically impossible with nine games at a time (plus some more in tournaments we're already in), and especially with nine games on the same map all at once it would be very difficult to always keep track of all the various strategies, thoughts about where the opponents might be, etc.
So we'd very much like to join, but we're asking whether you (meaning tkr, with consent of those who have already joined) might reconsider the part about playing all the games all at once. Ideally, we would like to play only one or two games on the same map at the same time.
Yeah, we'd probably sign up too, but I have the same concern as joriki above me. This map with these settings is complex and to play it nine at once in addition to other games that might be running would be a tremendous time consumer. Good initiative though, map is great.
