I totaly agree, it look absolut silly #-o
The way it looked b4 was my favorit, I dont think the details on the queen makes an unbalance in the maps style, it rater makes it less doll to watch.

Gameplay is set, I dont think grafics will change that drastic so it will effect the gameplay.

I think the problem with the flag/queen is there colouring. The are both a saturated red. While the rest of your map leans more towards a softer palette. Perhaps the general title area needs a rethink (in my opinion) as I still see it as the only major concern left on this map.

Have put some yellow in the queens dress, the colour wont fload in with the flag, that have been darker in the red tone

I think i have to keep it like this for a while, to get use to the change, or lets hear the foundry voice about it :)

Hmmm ... they are still too prominent. Try desaturating them a bit.

Quuen and flag: colors got desaturated. The color of the flag are a deep red, almost Bordeaux red wich is the royal flag color.
The queens color are down toned, the dress is not so shining brigth now.

Trees. Im not a greate artist, thise trees does anyhow look more natural than the ohter clipart look alike.

Trees are better, I'd cut back on the drop shadow some. The queen.... still isn't doing it for me, perhaps just a bust shot?

Changes: The Quuen have left the building, not for good, she can still return  , it does look more clean now and the royal touch has vanish, in every respect its not a map about the Queen.

The trees have less shadow now.

I really hate posterization, it just never comes out right. Yeah-yeah, I've tried it on numerous occasions, the point is it never stuck...

It can work, but you need to do some tweaking... if you simply run the image through a posterization filter it usually doesn't end up good, but using some filters & custom palettes can improve the results significantly.

I tryed to separate the red color in the dress and had some filters, reductions and color overlay on, in different combinations, it did come out good, but maby it was the picture that wasn't rigth. for now I stick to the current version.

ok yes, I do not know if it will fit the rest of the map subdued colors. Territories areas are more over in pastel color.

You can reduce the colour saturation, I was mainly talking about the type of effect to apply on the queen.

Yes I know, But as I understand the communitys mainly consern, is that the colors of the map are calm and subdued, and the queens color was strong and screaming, it dident fit together.
I understand your suggestion and i have played with the image alone for a while, I cant get the effect that Im looking for, the picture is just not good enough.
I have come to the conclusion that the Queen is out of my map forever, there have been largely many who disliked it, so pls end of story ;)

I hope the discution about the queen is over and we can proceed focus on the wholeness of the map, pushing it forwad for a stamp 8-)

If you give me the layer with only the queen, I can see if I can edit it to get it to fit with the rest of your map... I mean if you really want the queen on the map you shouldn't give up so easily.

Just copy the layer into a new image and save it as a .png, and post it here... I don't need the whole image file, I'll just work on the queen layer.
