Most importantly, by removing these redundant elements, you'll have more room for your minimap and you can make it larger. Then you can get rid of that mish-mash of lines and instead put the bonus area names on the bonus areas.

Natty has a very god point here. impassables and bridge crossing are so universal in so many maps I don't think you need to include them in your legends. That extra space with allow you to make your minimap bigger, which is a much more important aspect of your map.

Also, the two territory connectors to Samsø look odd compared to the others. They're in a straight line where every other connector isn't, and though it has no rational basis makes me think that Samsø is optional when attacking from Horsens to Kalundborg. This could be fixed by scooting the Horsens/Samsø connector up to meet the middle of Samsø instead of its fat south.

Yes the lions and hearts are national symbols, the Danish Coat of Arms have 3 blue lions and 9 red hearts.
I can see that the sail rute from Horsens go strait into samsø where the lines go from samsø to Kalundborg, i will move one of them so they dont look connected.
Gillipig wrote:I like how the map looks and I like the idea of having a some danish king in the upper left. Like I said I like the idea of having some danish king not a queen. Denmark is an old country so there are plenty of kings to chose from and kings that not only were symbols but that actually ruled the country. If this was a map of Sweden I think the royalty in the upper left should be Gustav Vasa. And I'm thinking you should pick a king with similar importance to Denmark. Now I'm not very good at danish kings but I know that Kristian, Valdemar and Gorm were somewhat important kings. Margareta II is one of the least important head of states of Denmark because of her limited power. So I think you should pick someone else. The same thing applies to our current swedish king. It doesn't really matter that you've sat for 40 years if you don't rule the country! She also looks very much alike the British queen so there's risk of confusion.

Is the leopard with the heart on it, like the one you have here, a well-known symbol in Denmark? I know the coat of arms has a field of hearts behind the leopards, but not joined together like yours.
I agree with having the current queen on this map, since it's a map of the current state and not a historical one. If you wanted to pick a king, I'm sure Knud the Great would be the most well-known internationally.

What!? No lengthy in-depth gameplay breakdown? Marshal you're slipping!
TaCktiX wrote:This isn't gameplay, but the shadow effect on the borders looks different depending on the continent color. This is most striking between the red Midt Jylland and the orange Sønder Jylland. I think it's by using the Screen blending mode, which switching to Normal and fudging with opacity should make them look similar across the board.
