Degaston and Immortalis XS[cleared]es

Postby The Red on Sun Jul 31, 2011 2:17 pm

Accused:

degaston
Immortalis XS

The accused are suspected of:

Being Multis
Conducting Secret Diplomacy

Game number(s):

Game 9443221
Game 9443220
Game 9296414
Game 9443219

Comments: Let me start off by pointing out that Degaston has only 65 games completed, but is already competing in tournaments with a "regular" doubles partner. He is taking ALL of Immortalis XS's turns in doubles games, and Immortalis hasn't joined a new game in a month. Out of Degaston's 65 games played, about half have been with IXS. If there isn't account abuse going on here, isn't there something wrong with your partner taking ALL of your turns? Isn't that essentially multi-accounting?

Immortalis and I were co-workers. He introduced me to CC and yes, we played a lot of games together. Is that a crime? We have played both as partners, and as opponents, and played separately. He has a large group of friends on CC that I have also played with and who know that we are not the same person.

The tournament that we signed up for took several weeks to fill up, and started at an inconvenient time for him as he recently left my company and took a two week vacation in-between jobs. I didn't ask him, but this may be why he hasn't joined any new games recently. He asked me to make his moves for him so that he wouldn't deadbeat in his games. I always identified myself when I did this - would you have even suspected anything otherwise? And I was trying to play slowly in these games so as to make as few of his moves as I could until he returned. I think he should be back this coming week and will start making his own moves again.

Just to let you know, I am planning on taking a vacation from August 17 through the 29th. I'll be in China, and I have no idea if I'll have internet access, so I was planning on asking him to make my moves for me while I was away. This is why I have not joined any new games recently.

I hope this clears things up. Sorry if you were upset by this - I suppose I should have said something in our game chat, but you also could have mentioned something there instead of making an accusation. Good luck in the tournament - no hard feelings?

You've been taking his turns for about a month now. It's account sitting abuse, at the very minimum. Something is up.

Okay, it's been three weeks, so we're both wrong. Excuse me for not knowing my former co-worker's vacation schedule.

And what is your point, anyway? I'm not making moves for him in any game where we are opponents (there are none currently), and I wasn't trying to hide the fact that I was making his moves. Are you really trying to accuse me of secret diplomacy with my teammate? Or do you still think we're one person? Or are you just upset from game 9134059 where you didn't know that the rules for foggy games allowed someone to talk about other people's troops in chat.

And you and PrincipalFoe have played in 128 games together - I'm thinking there must be a lot of secret collusion going on there!

Oh, and btw,

http://www.conquerclub.com/eticket/index.php#openticket

About the rules
17. Can I let another player take a turn for me when I am away from the game?

You can, with the stipulation that the account babysitter is not your opponent in any current game. It is common courtesy to announce in game chat that another player will take your turn(s) during your absence. Babysitters should only do what is necessary to take the turn(s) and should not interact with the community, start or join new games (except for ongoing tournaments). Furthermore, you should only take another player's turn if they are in danger of missing a turn, not for the purpose of gaining a tactical advantage.

So... what exactly are you accusing us of?

Looks like you're 0-2 when it comes to knowing the rules.

Account sitting abuse

What is it

If the Account Sitter has a stake in these non-tournament/non-clan challenge games (as an opponent or teammate), and plays multiple games from start to finish using the Account for which they are Sitting as a communal account strategically play turns, knowing that Account Sitter will not be back to take any of these turns.

A user or group of users who loosely share their accounts among one another to improve their score and gaming by means of strategically allowing others to take their turns for them at specific times, or allowing well versed and ranked users to essentially play select games on their account for them to boost their score and rank.

So, what does this have to do with our situation? We're only on round 6 of our tournament games, and I expect that Immortalis will be back soon, so this doesn't apply.

This is not a "loosely shared account", and what strategic advantage are we getting by having the lower ranked player make both team moves for a few rounds?

Got anything else?

Although I understand the concern of the OP I don't see any abuse here. You are allowed to have a sitter. Degaston has given me the impression that he doesn't know when Immortalis XS will return. With the unknown length for Immortalis return Degaston should get a replacement for his partner in the tournament or tournaments in question by the beginning of the next round should his team advance. This is CLEARED.

Ok if that doesn't do it, how about this example.

on 7/26, Immortalis takes his own turn in this game : http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=9134059

but on both 7/25, and 7/27 degaston takes Immortalis' turn in this game : http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=9443221

But degaston says "hes on a two week vacation in between jobs". (Degaston has been taking Immortalis' turns for close to a month). They also both stop joining games on or about 7/1-7/2 as far as I can tell. Semp, you have to see SOMETHING is going on here.

Would you just give it a rest - he already ruled on this. There may have been some days where I forgot to mention that I made his move. On 7/26, I think Immortalis did make his own move. Maybe because... I don't know... he was somewhere where he had INTERNET ACCESS that day? #-o And I assume that Evil Semp can see the private chat from that day:

2011-07-26 19:10:50 - Immortalis XS [team]: lol this game is so good. no i'm not back btw, i just occasionally check in

And I already told you that I stopped signing up for new games because I know I'm going to be away and probably without internet access. We signed up for the tournament on June 20, the tournament didn't start until July 21. I didn't know it was going to take that long to start.

I'm not happy that I've had to make all his moves either - I thought he was going to be back in two weeks. But there's nothing going on here and you're just being a dick by not letting it drop. Looks like you guys have the tournament anyway. Enjoy. If you're just a Lieutenant after 4863 games, then you probably plateaued a long time ago. Maybe you should find something else to do with your life.

Believe me if I thought they were multi's I would not hesitate to bust them. As far as account sitting abuse he is allowed to sit for his team mate like it was said earlier. Degaston is announcing in game chat that he is sitting. I just do not see the problem at this time. Degaston has been given a time frame.

I am sorry you disagree with me and I do understand your concerns. If you like you can file and e-ticket which can be found here. http://www.conquerclub.com/eticket/index.php

I would just like to add that I know both of these guys and degaston is sitting for IXS while he is away. IXS went on 2 weeks vacation and then followed that by moving house a day or two ago - I guess he has not been able to set up his internet yet at his new place, but I'm sure that when he does, he'll be back here.

I'm back, all. My apologies - I must have said 2 weeks when I meant 3. I was gone for a 3 week vacation, while Degaston (and occasionally Gifton) were taking my turns for me.

Dibbun: Nice addition. Lol

Gifton: Thanks for the backup!

Degaston: Thanks for the prompt and efficacious defense as well as for taking my turns. I'll be more than happy to take yours while you're away.

The Red: Eat me. You're an idiot.

Evil Semp: Thanks for a prompt and fair judgment on a ridiculous, stupid accusation.
