Vicfontaine, Grandilof, & Melog: SD & Sitting [Closed] Mas

Postby Dragontrader on Tue Jul 26, 2011 6:47 pm

Accused:

VicFontaine
Grandilof
Melog

The accused are suspected of:

Conducting Secret Diplomacy in numerous games over a lengthy period & also for accnt sitting abuse.

Game number(s):

Game 9349711
Game 9360449
Game 9342024
Game 9357808
Game 9385199
Game 9385149
Game 9393486
Game 9350693

Comments:

These 3 are friends who often play as doubs or trips with each other, and accnt sit for one another but they also set up a lot of 8 player singles games where they seem to have established patterns of play that target other players within the game and not each other, whereby one of them often takes home 100+ points and after reading thru numerous game logs it becomes apparent that their only attacks on each other are to establish bonus regions only. They favour 8 player doubs where VicFontane will partner with someone not involved in the scam and usually on fog settings, then systematically set out to destroy the players not involved. Melog misses turns until eliminated so that Grandilof recieves full bonuses without having to team-mate kill, thereby giving Grandilof in each of these games 10-15 deploy early on in the game as other teams are trying to establish themselves. VicFontaine accnt sits for Melog before his elimination in quite a lot of the games, despite them being a fog of war in which he has a vested interest and is playing on a completely different team. Thereby VicFontaine gets a good look at the map without the disadvantage of fog and subsequentially a massive advantage over every other player. Other players then become mass attacked, and in each of these games they will on average only ever attack each other for 1-2 troops the entire game, after which they have gotten a bonus through, even when one of the 2 left playing becomes a clear leader(Grandilof and VicFontaine, as Melog is generally just a drop out so that Grandilof can gain some easy bonuses to springboard off of) they decline to attack one another and a click on their past games will reveal how often they play as singles in 8 player games which one of them will win as a result of the ongoing secret diplomacy between the 3. Some other dodgy tactics ive noticed:

In speed Game 9385199 : melog and grandiloff play as singles in an assassin game .. grandiloff wins the game in round ONE.

Speed Game 9385149 Round 3: again they play assassin as singles, and melog wins this time in round 3, pocketing 100+ points this time.. and i dont play this setting but the game log is awfully strange.. they get timed out in turns constantly, miss turns and some of the players dont even take a turn the entire first 2 rounds or attempt to. It just seems very odd. But they win these in a very short time, even if there is fog they located their target pretty instantly!

Speed Game 9393486 Round 3: In this game they both lose because someone else killed the wrong assassin and spoilt their plan. But at one point Melog gamechats "someone stop blue or he will destroy green"..guess who green is? grandiloff ..yup :-p

THIS ONES CLASSIC: Game 9360449 .. In a fog doubs 8 player game victontaine plays on one team (again) and melog and grandilof on another, and then vicfontaine logs in and plays a turn for melog !!!!* in a game where he is one of the opponents!! Talk about a grose abuse of a game, he guy gets to see the game without the fog settings - an absolutely massive advantage over everyone else. Also melog misses as always and get chucked at some point afterwards... giving grandilof double the territories of everyone else as they like to do & established bonuses once he inherits melogs abandoned troops. Note in each of these games even once an established lead becomes obvious the two left wont mass attack one another, but the target is always the ppl left.

Game 9357808: another example. Vic joins an 8 player doubs on another team from those 2. at one point its obvious from game log that Vic has a massive lead and is way in front and he is attacking the s*it out of every other player apart from.. Melog and Gandiloffs team.. and when the non cheating players attack Vic hard trying to reduce his lead Gandilof refrains from attacking whatsoever and just stacks and wont attack, yet in other games where one of the 3 isnt winning his strategy is entirely different.

Game 9350693: They play single 8 player hive and grandilof doesnt hit vicfontane cept for a few initial swaps, and in game chat they try to insite vindictive play amongst other players. Not illegal, but amusing. This game is too new to show too much right now, but I think their history speaks for itself.

Game 9342024: AGAIN; in a fog game, Vic again playing in a separate and supposedly opposing team from Melog and Grandilof comes in and account sits on behalf of them! Again in a fog game. Melog quits again and Grandilof gets 40+ territories as a result!!! (would any honest player keep playing doubs with a teammate who just never turned up to any of the games?) Im telling you, its an established cheat pattern that works out vey nicely for all of the 3. They get the bonuses from Melogs quitting, the sunny look at the map and pocket around 100+ points for their efforts. (If you were an honest player would you ask a person playing in one of your fog games as an opponent on another team to come on in and take your turn for you? )

You should add intentional deadbeating to Melogs accusation as it is pretty systematic

Game 9267836 Vic and crew's secret diplomacy activity was NOTED (In re of an E-Ticket) Vic's account sitting in that game and a few others had a WARNING issued in re of sitting abuse.

Since that WARNING Vic quit taking turns for Melog in my game (which was right for him to stop) and it led to Melog deadbeating.
2011-07-25 01:22:57 - Melog was kicked out for missing too many turns in round - 24

VicF is the acknowledged sitter of Melogs account. If melog was allowed to deadbeat in all of his games then that could be considered intentional deadbeating/game throwing against VicF. Not melog. It does appear that some of his turns are being taken. Maybe just not the ones that Vic and melog are opponents in. So that is actually ok. Vic is not allowed to take those turns and he has been already been warned for the turns he previously had taken. (As of July 18th - the date the warning was issued)

You are not allowed to play any of the turns for Melog in any of the games where he is your opponent

None of this is true re: the accusations against me. Prior to July 14, I've never had much, if any, substantive contact with Melog or Grandilof. Melog asked me to account sit for him on July 14. I agreed. I violated a rule I didn't know existed, and was punished accordingly. I've followed the Mod's orders to deadbeat in those games, and have not broken any other rule that I know of.

DragonTrader, you are dead-wrong in these accusations.

I am sick of taking turns in Melog's account. He told me he'd be gone "for a few days," and he still isn't back. I am tired of the time it takes from my family and life, but gave the guy my word I'd not deadbeat his turns. I DON'T KNOW WHO THIS GUY IS. HE ASKED ME TO SIT FOR HIM, and I've done my best.

I asked Grandilof, his perennial partner in games (or so it appears), when he was coming back. I still have heard nothing.

What am I suppose to do?

I'm an honest player. Those who know me in this game and have played me can attest to that.

UDATE: The speed game in question (the one I looked at) is from 2011-07-10. It has nothing to do with VicF as I assume the other speeder doesn't either.

VicFontaine was already disciplined for any of his sitting of Melog and does not belong listed in this complaint. As pasckalleke has posted VicF offenses were all taken care of here - http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=239&t=149467

Additionally,

I don't know anything about these "Speed games." I see some that were prior to July 14. I didn't start acct. sitting until the 14th/15th while Melog still was logging in to his account as well (he was checking in to see what I was doing).

He told me his cousin—whoever that is, I don't know—had access to his password but had previously deadbeated when Melog used him as an Acct. Sitter. I don't know these people.

I haven't started a single game with Melog's account, but have only played his games already in existence. That's why he's down 50% in game count to about 50 games instead of the 100 or so he had when I took over.

I've been advised to give his password to Grandilof so I can be rid of this mess. My CC life was fine until 2 weeks ago when Melog asked me to do this. Are there objections to me giving Grandilof, his partner, the account password? Someone give me a solution here.

The thing is Vic, when you account sit for an opponent in a FOG game...that gives you a grossly unfair advantage over everybody else. You basically are playing a sunny game while everyone else is blind. This is a conflict of interest plain and simple.

The way I see it, you gave your word to account sit for a few days. You've more than fulfilled your responsibility so why not just let Melog deadbeat out of all his games?

I'd just like to chime in as a character witness for Vic. I don't know much about all of this, but I was Vic's partner in the FOW game where he sat for Melog when he shouldn't have. Knowing him personally (outside of CC) I can attest to his integrity and deep concern for following through on his promises. He didn't let me (his partner) see the map even though that certainly would have been a huge advantage as I was the dominant partner in that game. I don't know Melog or Grandilof, but I think that Vic should be dropped from this charge and told to stop associating with the other two players.

I greatly appreciate how the court of inquiry is bypassed, and sentencing commences by people without the ability to verify evidence. Wait...that sounds an awful lot like how this thread started to begin with....

Moreover, it's wonderful to know that dmastrong is so saintly that he can ask for us to be hung in what must only be a metaphor for banning....Or, at least, I hope it is.

I can't do this because then I'd be violating yet another rule in this black-hole in which I find myself: intentional deadbeating. I've asked some Mods if I can just give his password to his seemingly-constant partner, Grandilof, who is, I remind you, someone I do not know and had no dealings with short of all this mess (yet I'm being accused of being in cahoots with them in some grand scheme to steal a few points).

I'm waiting to hear back from them today.

I didnt sentence you, dip shit, I dont have that authority, I only expressed my desires. This game is supposed to be about fun, thats why we all layed down our 25 dollars to come here and have fun, it bothers me when losers like you and your buddies try to beat the game rather than winning straight, i dont get it. Yes it is my desire that you are banned!

My point is, nothing's been proven, and nothing can be proven. Why? Because I haven't cheated. I haven't done anything that Dragontrader is accusing me of.

But you're right, the game is supposed to be fun, which is why a month ago I paid for premium. I wonder why I would do that, then 14 days after buying premium—after being on the site since October and almost reaching Colonel status WITHOUT CHEATING—I would decide to start cheating with two players I do not know, have not had contact with before, one of whom is (apparently) abandoning CC?

Very odd motives.

I'm not cheating. I don't cheat in real-life, nor do I call people "dip-shit," etc. I guess I'm just a nice guy. We should all just vote for Obama again so we can have Hope and Change.

I think is says a lot that the person that accused Vic of cheating before is standing up for him now.

I will vouch for Vic's character, he is a good guy who made a mistake and was already punished for this.

Vic is a great player and a wonderful human being. We have played with each other and against each other in several games. I got to know VicF on this site and count him as one of my best friends (even though we have never met). He is the ONLY person on this site that I would trust (and is the ONLY person that I have trusted so far) to sit my account. If you read his feedback, you will see that he is funny, trustworthy, and a good stategist. Banning VicF would be a huge mistake. Also, punishing him for keeping his word and sitting for a player hardly seems a punishible offense. I have seen several players sit for other players for days at a time. We all have lives and jobs outside of this game and we sometimes cannot play for a weekend or a week or whatever. So, thank you Vic for being a great guy and I know that this will all work out in your favor.

Vic,

I have nothing personal against you, but having people come in here and talk about how youre a stand up guy is just an old bit anymore. There were accused people of the past whom it didnt matter if there was support of a character person or not.

Best of luck to you in your situation though.

Am I the only person who finds it highly odd that Vic agreed to accnt sit on over 100+ games for a 'complete stranger'? And more so, why would someone start over 100+ games then suddenly disappear after having asked a guy they dont even know, and who furthermore is their actual opponent in a fair few of these games to play them all and fairly represent their interests in those games, when they have an established doubles partner - Grandilof of whom they always doub? I think this explains why the game logs show that they never attack one another  And also, I want to play poker with Melog in Vegas: ("hey sure buddy ill hold your cards while you run to the loo, and dont worry even though ill have seen them, im a great guy so I promise i wont cheat ;) ) I dont know you Vic, and im not 'spamming' you - in fact you were never part of my suspicions until I started investigating the other two guys, (who need to join a clan pronto btw so they can get all of their clanmates to jump in and vouch that theyre "the worlds nicest guy cause I played some online games with him and he was funny etc"). I only included you after it became apparent that your name always popped up in the games of which they played their little 'join an 8 player doubs then deadbeat and reap the rewards of established territories' scam. Id happily have given the benefit of the doubt if I could only have found evidence that you ever attacked them or they you (oh wait, but they *are* you? .. you just didnt know that may be a bit of a no no, right? a long standing highly ranked cc member! okay). So when Melog asked you "dear unknown opponent can you plse represent me in our games of which we are rivals and over 100+ others?" what was wrong with saying 'ahh no'. You really *are* an upstanding guy (unless of course youre looking at this from the viewpoint of all of the other players within those games who have been massively disadvantaged by Vics overwhelming generosity to a stranger), Smell a rat anyone? (clan members of Vics aside of course ;) ). Im not calling for you to be banned, but I do think that you should absolutely be tossed from the games in which youve been playing for two opposing teams as youve had unprecidented fog access, and a massive vested interest, and frankly I find it odd that someone who so vehemently defends his integrity can still participate in games of which he has disadvantaged so many other players? If youve already been found quilty how is it that youre even allowed to still be playing in the compromised games? If you win wont you feel just a little bit like a cad? I mean no offense, and in truth I dont want you banned at all, but nor do I want you to benefit from rule violations over players that played fairly. People will make up their own minds, I can only go by the game logs and the complete lack of battle between the 3 of you in any of the games tips me in one direction..but then people in a clan are never guilty are they? Roll along with the character references .... (starts up the backgroud music, 'he aint heavy... hes my brother...) Is anyone else starting to feel sorry for the other two accused scammers? Not one single shred of defence ... what lame-assed clan are they affiliated with to not even get one decent shout out?
