For one thing, your dismissive air of "building an AI is so easy, and you people don't do it ergo you must be catastrophically lazy" is rather annoying. (And yes, I was paraphrasing. Those weren't your exact words.)

I'm not a programmer, but I do understand games theory a bit and I tried to help a programmer friend build an AI a couple times. It's not as easy as it sounds, and even when complete the results are disappointing. Go the the forum for any single-player game and see how many "THE AI REALLY SUCKS!" threads there are. Almost as many as the "DICE REALLY SUCK!" threads here. Number one complaint about any single player game I've ever seen is the stupidity of the AI, and that is for games put out by big companies with big budgets, much less for (basically) one man show like CC is.

@ Dukasaur you are not paraphrasing. You are bastardising what I have said and completely misunderstanding the point. I hope that others that read the entire forum inquiry will see that. I understand that I am the new guy asking questions and putting forth new or rehashed ideas. It is also my understanding that cc is not a “one man show,” as you eloquently put it. It is a community derived of a multitude of people all over the world. People all over the world that could create something spectacular. You have no idea who I am or what my background is, I am a programmer and I know what can be done. I make it sound easy because it is easy for me. It is what I do all day every day. I have seen people in their garage produce some amazing stuff that revolutionize the industry. Only to be sold to the highest bidder and marketed to the masses. I have also seen large corporations see something like this site and create something with all the same properties and kill the starter with better interface and huge advertizing. So don't go putting words in my mouth!
Sorry everyone, that was me attacking someone personally. Someone misconstruing what I said and so called paraphrasing what I said really pisses me off. The main idea I had was creating an AI so to bring more members on to the site. Not to interfere with the games or points on the site. I know that may last post was a little extravagant but I still think it would be beneficial to the site. Maybe a flash game with one of the more widely used maps. Put it on the site to give new players some idea of what cc is. Start off small and grow from there.

LMFAO 4 years ago I proposed AI or bot games. I was slammed to the ground with many saying it wasn't going to happen. I come back to see that there are bots. I have to ask what changed that made them want it? Did it increase traffic to the site? Was it as hard as they said it would be? (I think not, i had it done in 6 months with one map after i stop coming to the site) I moved on to java games, then android.
I have a lot of new ideas for the site, but won't go into them on open forum. If any administrators would like to hear them, pm me. I have to congratulate those who stuck with it to keep this site running. I am happy to see that my prediction that it would fold didn't happen. It would be interesting to see what happen in the next 4 years.

Helmetira, we've gone through 2 new owners since you were last here, and the current owner, BigWham, is keen on doing whatever he can to bring traffic back. There's another thread in this forum called "Is CC Declining?" that chronicles the drop in numbers. Bots have been a popular addition, though, and a lot of new players do like playing them to get a game in right away. I still prefer human opponents, though. =)
