This is a weird one, but bear with me. I've got a thread running in the off topic forum- on music covers Here.

Daddy1Gringo has posted a few great links there. Weirdly, as I'm replying to Daddy1Gringo's post here, there's another poster who turns up with exactly the same avatar, but under the name "griller". That post immediately followed two posts by D1G. Those three posts have the same avatar.

Weird, is what i think- must be a coincidence. But then Griller deletes his post before I can reply. Ok- I think- he must have been embarrassed by the coincidence. Then he reposts exactly the same set of links, but with a new avatar.

At this point I check his profile, and that of D1G. Both from Puerto Rico. There are plenty of posters from Puerto Rico, I'm sure, but two posting in a row, with the same avatar? On the same topic? Fishy, no?

I checked his games and couldn't see anything between him and griller, so I sent a PM to D1G asking for an explanation. I checked back into the thread, and he was online, but didn't reply.

So then I checked again- this time using the link to the griller account, and found the games posted above.

For your consideration, but he still hasn't replied.

Odd - yes. Suspicious - yes. Possible - yes.

I see daddy1gringo uses upper case I (i) when posting in re of himself.

griller uses lower case i in his post in re of himself.

Capitalization error is counter to daddy1gringo typical posting. Posts are also formatted/styled differently. It does not appear to be the same person.

They both posted in very similar styles on the thread in question. I kind of spend a lot of time at my job recognising writing styles. They're very close. Part of that is surely the way the thread developed- you kind of end up following the established style, but I really don't see enough difference between them to say they're different people. To be honest, the sample sizes are too small to make any kind of judgment either way, but they have the same structure and rhythm. But again- that could be a case of following an established structure.

What? Yes it is a very small small sample but griller does not seem to like to use periods, spaces, chaptering and proper caps.

Daddy1 does.

"griller" has only posted once. Well, twice if you count the one he deleted, but it was the same post, just without Daddy1's avatar the second time round. Are you sure you want to argue about sample sizes being too small or not?

D1G has replied to my PM's. Apparently it's his daughter. For whatever it's worth, I think he's a pretty stand up guy, and I thought this was kind of bizarre to be coming from him from the very start, so I'm strongly inclined to believe his explanation.

Yeah, Symmetry just told me that this was already in the abuse thread. My daughter had the same avatar as me at first because of a prank that one of the other Jesus Freaks members played on me. He got as many as he could of the members to change their avvy to mine. It's a funny story and I can spell it out if you want. It was quite a while ago, but she never changed it because she rarely goes on CC. It's mainly my hobby; she has others. Any similarities are because, well, she's my daughter, and a chip off the old block in a lot of ways.

Need a new job. It's obvious it isn't the same person. The same thought process. The same style. The same mannerisms.
