That's fine if for example, it's like 13 or 17 players for the setup and you see how many people sign up. Putting an openended number of players and trying to rebalance isn't usually a good idea.

ok, thanks for the tip. Are you suggesting I balance it first and then have a fixed amount of players.

Yeah, Rodion, if saf helps you balance your game, be prepared. he balances games pretty well. he's on the opposite end of the scale from fircoal.

Yes, that's the idea. Using the above example, if there's 17 players, the difference between that and 13 players might be say 1 mafia goon, 1 jailkeeper or insane cop or something, and 2 VT's. Then if you can't get 17 players, you can scale town and mafia down appropriately and run it with 13.

I'm designign what I consider to be pretty cool mechanics for the FFVII game, but I'm afraid that might compromise balance somehow. =/

Then I would definitely echo suggestions that you should get a co-mod with experience.

So you disagree with this?

Alright, I'll take someone that is not willing to play as a co-mod.

Maybe I should download/buy this game. I just downloaded a PS1 emu so I could play a decent Inuyasha game (or at least try to) (I only have Nintendo systems and for some reason the games on them suck or are in Japanese or something D: ) so I do have the hardware for it now. x3

I really agree not with this, but with something like it. I haven't played in a lot of games (only like 2 more than you Rodion) and I have only modded 1, but I can tell,it will greatly add to the excitement of the game if you simply make it have a twist. Either get rid of a few of the main characters, or make Cait Sith the pro-town hero, or something totally random. If the theme and flavour spec become too predictable, the game will be boring. In any case, no matter how you make it, I will play. And I challenge you all to Gold Chocobo Racing!!

Just download a torrent of the PC version.... Not quite as good, but usually less buggy than emulation.

The way I have currently set it is unusual to say the least. I still need to make more characters/roles and check the balance with someone (and possibly make several alterations).

I got some great ideas, I just hope they are not terminally incompatible with a good balance.

I'd like emulators for Before Crisis and Crisis Core: never played them.
