Mafia themes you really wish you could have played

Postby strike wolf on Wed Apr 13, 2011 5:23 pm

So I'm sure that for most of us who play mafia here especially ones who have been here a while have had many games that they wished they could have played in but missed the opportunity (too busy or temporary absense, too many games). I thought I would create this thread for people to use as a place to mention some of the games we wished we had the chance to participate in:

1. Back To The Future mafia
2. Princess Bride Mafia
3. Tombstone Mafia (I would have really liked playing as Doc Holiday)
4. Godfather Mafia (I'll make you an offer you can't refuse)
5. LOTR mafia
6. Sherwood mafia
7. Dexter Mafia (Yes I hosted it but I also wanted to be Dexter Morgan :D)
8. Departed Mafia

This list will probably grow as I remember mafias I had forgotten about.

Has there been a Starcraft mafia? Because I would have loved to play that too.

Edit: Yes, Puff did a nice series. So yeah, I'd like to be in them. Although it's probably a good time to start thinking about SC 2 mafia...hmm...

I would have liked to have not died Night 1 in Sherwood, but then again since I needed to read 40-50 pages it was somewhat for the best...

Mass effect was done? Damn, that was one of the ones on my list. When 3 came out I wanted to do a series, each one effected by events in the previous.

You know what's a surprising theme that hasn't been done yet? Jurassic Park! Or at least it doesn't come up when I did a search.

Yeah seriously, although revisiting it wouldn't be a bad idea. I think with the expanded player pool with 2 and 3, could make it pretty big and really interesting (Geth alignment, Rachni alignment, Ellusive Man alignment, etc...)

Also, Fallout might be a good theme, but I've never played any of the games.

Fallout or mass effect sequels would make good games simply because it's multiple factions but both would have to have a huge player pool to be successful.

QFT on The Departed, that game had such a strong theme and mindfucks all over. We should have a remake with the original Infernal Affairs movie theme :D
POTC (kidding )
Really wish Saw had kept going, lots of potential for this theme.
Hell in Mushroom Kingdom, though I enjoyed co-modding that one.
Godfather (what, I played this? BS :P)
Discworld & Anime, just for the theme.
Played the first 2 Fallout, that would definitely be a good theme anyway.
Sherwood is probably the most epic of the old games I wish I had been in.

yeah, Jurassic Park mafia sounds cool. The townies would include Grant, Hammond, the kids and that women (I forget her name), and the mafia would consist of Dennis, T-Rex, Dilaphasuarus, velociraptor, etc. Sounds fun, you should mod that strike wolf.

Good list so far. I think considering unmafia 3 the original would be fun.

I might be willing to mod it if I had a co-mod but otherwise it would have to wait a while.

I can totally do the Pokemon mafia as Jurassic Park. However, saf already knows the setup so I still need to run the first chapter so he doesn't get an undue advantage.

Keep it as pokemon man, I think Jurassic Park would be a pretty good co modded game for one of the new mods (maybe with strike mentoring?). You got good ideas in your's now, the flavor fits better with pokemon anyways.

Mortal Kombat is a theme I wish I could've played. I don't know if it ever got off the ground, but it was in the Weekly Nothing.

Saw is a superstar theme with the right mod.

I wish I would have played in all of talapus's games and by proxy all of aimless's games as both of them were amazing.

interdimensional mafia would be cool- mix in a whole bunch of characters from a whole bunch of different movies.
