This tourney is based on the FA cup in soccer/football(depending on where you are from). The FA cup, for those of you who don't know, is a cup that any team in england can win. As of this year there were 759 teams entered. I won't be having that many in this tourney. In the FA cup the lower teams have to fight it out to get to play against the better teams. The better teams get byes. This will work the same way. Why i call it the Giant Killer, is cause the lowest cook could kill the conquerer and be a giant killer.
This tourney will have 8 rounds. There will be 136 teams in total. You don't have to pick an english team for your name to be. Your name is your team name. The first round will be the bottom 64 ranked people playing 1 vs 1 games against each other. The winner moves on the loser goes home. At round 2 we will add the next 48 people. At round 3 will we will add the top 24 players who have signed up. There will be no more players getting a bye after that, and we will continue playing 1 vs 1 until we have a winner in the final and 8th round if my math is correct. When I have 136 people signed up, I will then find all of their rankings to determine who gets the byes until round 2 and 3. If anyone doesn't show up to a game, it is an auto win for the player who did show up and they automatically move on to the next round. This is my first foray into a tourney like this, and could probably be developed more. We will see how this one goes first. 1 final thing, please pick a map, this will be your home map. Your game will be played on the home map of who ever has the highest ranking in that game. All games will be Auto, unlimited, escalating, sunny to try and keep things going faster. I am also going to impose a 30 round limit. If there is no winner by then, we will redo the game on the lower ranked players map. You will only play one game at a time so this is open to anyone and everyone. I will also be drawing the team draws, sort of like they do in the FA cup. I won't be using random.org, instead it will be names/numbers out of a "velvet bag", probably just out of a box. I think that is everything. I hope everyone signs up and that everyone enjoys.
