Acused:BigWhite [noted]

Postby wilkerma on Mon Dec 27, 2010 1:32 am

Accused:

BigWhite

The accused are suspected of:

Suiciding and throwing the game to the other player.

Game number(s):

Game 8206420

After taking down one of his castles he cashes in spoils, deploys all his troops on the closest region to mine and throws it against my stack, destroying it and the balance of power in that region. This gave green complete dominance, ruined red's position along with mine, and led to red being eliminated in a round or two. The attack didn't help red at all and served the only purpose of throwing the game to the other player

intention is in the eye of the beholder who knows exactly what he was thinking prior to the attack, maybe it was just a bad move. Unless he wrote it in chat there is nothing the mods can do Foe and move on.

wanna run down a layout of the map at the time? ie troop numbers and territory counts or even better if you had a snapshot..
just trying to understand why he attacked you..and why you attacked him first...
3 players games are a delicate balance...and sometimes people get pushed over the edge after losing there strong hold. From what i got He lost his castle and was attacking you to get it back. But like I said I dont know the exact situation of when this hapenned

I've seen 3 player guys get struck a killer blow, then run down the guy who did it or the lower ranked guy in order to save what points they can from the game.

Not that uncommon for them to announce it in chat either.

It wasn't a killer blow, he had three castles, i had two and the other dude had three before i attacked him and afterwards he still had two and a large stack left. The other dude had his castles well gaurded/hadnt broke the neutral ten and i saw that the game was turning into a build stage where the most important thing is troops due, thus holding castles is very important. The area that he attacked me in was in a delicate balance between the three of us with everyone holding large stacks in the region, unwilling to throw them at each other because of the prescence of the third stack that would roll over all of us after the attack. After taking his castle in the lower left of the map, a differnt area than from the staredown, that he had overextended to take from a neutral he got pissed, dropped spoils and threw his stack at mine in the aforementioned region, wiping out both stacks and giving green two easy castles, thus giving him the game. Yes i had struck him a grevious blow but he could still have recoverd, and worked to rebuild his troops while green and i stared each other down. In hindesight once i've cooled down it was a stupid, vindictive move and gave the game away but it was not cheating, simply him making an immature, knee jerk reaction to a sudden change in the game situation. If the mods see this close the thread and clear him. I've just foed him and moved on.

So you're upset that he took a risk hoping for good dice to finish you off, and failed?
Tag him as a brave, suicider, reckless, quitter, sore loser and rate him accordingly.
Anyway, glad you dont think is cheating anymore. People should be tagged first and rated, and C&a'd if its a ongoing / points scam.

I can agree that what he did may not be an attack to win but more of a move out of rage and vengeance to what you did to him. Since he felt you ruined his chance to win the game, he thought he might as well return the favor. How many times do we see this in 3 player games? the game is almost a stalemate between 3 players and then one makes an attack to one of the opponents and then the recipient of that attack responds back, leaving the 3rd player unharmed and stronger because the other two fought it out. I'm not saying that no one should dare make an attack, of course, one way or the other, someone has to make that move. Being that we are human, if we were the recipient of that attack, we sometimes, just can not take certain assaults just like that and not strike back.

The vengeful attack may be understandable but still, since we are here to win the game, you should always play to win. Do not forget that you are all still opponents. It's everyone's job to eliminate you and win the game for himself. This report shall be noted for now in case he gets reported and does this again.

To add a brief post-scriptum: Setting the "fight to win" issue aside, long-term it makes sense to counter-assault. If not retaliating, people know that they can assault you with no consequence if creating a situation where the 3rd player is the strongest. If consequently counter-assaulting, they will learn not to rely on your "good manners" so to speak. Hence, always counter-assault even if this likely will cause a 3rd player to win the game.
