It seems that you have been a little busy...
Some time has passed since the last update and, even if this is sad to do for me, i must consider this map as stalled.
But when you are ready, please post an update here and then send a PM to one of the CAs. In this way one of us will put your map back into the Foundry System.

yes, this was my original idea. and yes I wrote to thenobodies.

this is last version. everything is in except trade routes (I must set up them fine because bonus for connected Hanseatic towns), land bonuse (it is about any debate), banks of rivers (I need help with GIMP - how to do "Outer Glow") and grunge texture.

Moved on account of a new update.

The new version with a little Pork help looks pretty good, but the folds look to forced.

Has the gameplay changed with this version?

thanks, in my opinion it is much better than old one...
I think that Pork did not work with opacity. I wait for his grunge texture and will change the opacity.
Industrial Helix wrote:Has the gameplay changed with this version?

the map is still build on autodeploy, there are still three types of settlements, bonuse are similar. only I do not know if is better to have map with objective or just have normal game (last man wins).

I create new poll for this maybe.

Teutonic & Brothers in Swords bonuses looks different from the ones you had before.....and also the standard +3 bonus still doesn't apply on the map?

this is very close to finish version. I wait for grunge texture (pork, could you upload yours for me?), it needs play with opacity of layers, land bonuses and to do banks for rivers. I did not understand what is at page posted by thenobodies :(

why Castles are not part of Land bonuses?
castles were build for save and to control area. but nobody can control area from behind the walls - armies must be out, so when player gain Land bonus he must secure land not only "sitting" behind walls.

why ships reverts every third turn to 1 neutral?
this should represent problems on the sea (pirates, enemies, storms), so if ship was lost must be send next one to make trade.

what means +1 for each 3 connected Hanseatic towns?
this should represent trade. if trade goes well you have more money and could have more soldiers.

yours suggestions and ideas are welcome :D

Do those little lines between Samland and Scalovia, and Samland and Pomesania, represent land connections? It's not clear whether they do.

There is no mechanism in the XML to revert a region to neutral every third turn. A region can be defined a killer neutral, which will return to neutral with its initial troop count at the start of the turn of the player which holds it.

I have some questions:

1, so, is possible in the XML to do: "Ships, lost 1 each turn to the last one." or "Ships, lost 1 each turn to the one neutral."?
2, is understable that only ships connection gives bonus for connected Hanseatic towns? so connection over islands Dago and Osel this bonus does not valid?
3, I think to do bonus for Gotland +1. but what will be better:
a, 1 Gotland +1 if Visby is connected with another Hanseatic town
b, 1 Gotland if Visby is connected with another Hanseatic town
4, is clear that Riga is independent region - so not part of Archbishopric of Riga (AB. Riga)?
5, could be better to "close" trade routes - to connect Dorpat with Riga and Thorn with Konigsberg? I´ve tried to set up routes by historical records.

It is possible to have the ships lose one army each turn to the last one. This is done by a negative region bonus (autodeploy) and can be seen in the Russian WInter regions of the Napoleonic Europe map and the Dust Bowl regions of the map of the same name. It is not possible to have a region gradually lose armies and finally turn neutral.
2, is understable that only ships connection gives bonus for connected Hanseatic towns? so connection over islands Dago and Osel this bonus does not valid?
It is not clear as it is now. I suggest you change the colour of the routes that do not apply for the bonus to black, and then change the legend to say "+1 for three connected by ●●●"
3, I think to do bonus for Gotland +1. but what will be better:
a, 1 Gotland +1 if Visby is connected with another Hanseatic town
b, 1 Gotland if Visby is connected with another Hanseatic town
I'm not sure what you are suggesting. In the first case, do you mean Gotland always gets +1, plus another +1 for a total of 2 if Visby is connected? In the second case, do you mean Gotland only gets its +1 if Visby is connected, and otherwise gets nothing? In either case, at first glance, they both seem like unnecessary complications.
4, is clear that Riga is independent region - so not part of Archbishopric of Riga (AB. Riga)?
No. Is Riga a region as well as a Hanseatic town? I mean, are there to be two troop numbers, as there will be for, say, Windau and the B. of Courland?
5, could be better to "close" trade routes - to connect Dorpat with Riga and Thorn with Konigsberg? I´ve tried to set up routes by historical records.

Sorry, I have no opinion on this, and I leave it to the experts in gameplay to analyze.

ok. so they will have negative autodeploy.

good idea how to do it easy and clear :)

Visby (as Hanseatic town) will gives to player +1 autodeploy. for Gotland as Land bonus (manualdeploy) player must hold Visby and Gotland.
a, yes, you are right. so this could be something as 3 Teutonic Order +1 with Kuyavia
b, you are again right.
so what could be better for gameplay setting?
ender516 wrote:4, is clear that Riga is independent region - so not part of Archbishopric of Riga (AB. Riga)?

Riga is "two in one" :D . as Hanseatic town it gives +1 autodeploy and +1 manualdeploy as bonus for Papal Legatus. in map´s Legend it will looks: 3 Papal Legatus +1 with Riga
so there will be only one number.

Bast,
If you could post the map without any text, icons, or routes, I would be happy to skecth up a completed base for you to work with. ;)

To do the rivers, I need to have a "land" layer, and a "water" layer.

As on Reconquista, It involves using a combination of transfer modes, on both land and water layers. So it becomes too detailed to explain adequately, as numerous duplicate layers, with a plethora of settings are involved.

EDIT: why if I choose "Color picker tool" and try to take colour from edited (lower opacity) region it gives me original colour (100% opacity)?

I did download that winRAR, but I do not know how to use it. There are some fonts that I grabbed off the net months ago, but I do not know how to get them into photoshop. So, unless someone shows me how to do it, I am stuck with png's.

If you gave me a png for water and a png for land, I can do it, But no text, icons, or routes, please.

EDIT: why if I choose "Color picker tool" and try to take colour from edited (lower opacity) region it gives me original colour (100% opacity)?

I do not know gimp, but it sounds like the layer, or more likely the file needs to be rasterized.

I will try to explain it. I assume that you have installed it to you PC. so double click on packed file (looks like purple, blue and green books). you can see window with several possibilities (but maybe you will have window which offers you to buy WinRAR licence - close this window) click on second from left (in English maybe Unpack to), choose where (desktop, user...) you can unpack file and click OK. thats all.

here is link where I uploaded map with all layers for you
http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/2 ... 8-rar.html

next version. could somebody look if colours of regions matched with colours of shields in legend? thanks.
