Multiple Objective Map

Postby Victor Sullivan on Thu Sep 02, 2010 5:52 pm

I think it'd be neat to have a map that has multiple ways to win like with multiple objectives. Idk if this has been done before, some of the crazy maps scare me so one of those may have already included this. I haven't come up with any specifics, though. Thoughts?

I pursued an idea in this vein with my Gallic Wars map, but I didn't like the way it was going so I took it out. But it sounds like an interesting map.

Baltic Crusades is developing a forked objective: hold one key territory, plus all of one group or all of another, and The Third Crusade has a complex one of one starting point, Jerusalem, Antioch and either the Vatican or Grenada.

I have a plan for a map which uses multiple objectives, but I don;t know if I'll ever get around to finishing it...

Technically Operation Drug War is multiple objectives.

I have only just started my first game on this map (in your Bit by Bit tournament), so I was unaware of it when I posted.

Yes, I mentioned that one. Hey, instead of wracking our fallible memories, we can use chipv's database: Maps with a Victory Condition. Only problem is, it does not include Beta maps, and some of the entries are incomplete, like The Third Crusade, which apparently has no features. :?

It just occurred to me that in a Freestyle game, if more than one player achieves an objective in one round, then there has to be a race to start the next turn to decide who actually wins. Another reason for me to stay away from Freestyle.
