Looks like smaller game counts are still ok for the league. I did some other designs based off Season 2 and I think I will be able to post a thought guideline this week to get input.

Basically thinking 4 groups of 6 (group then 8 bracket?), with 12 coming from Div 1 last season, plus 4 coming from promoted clans. 1 promoted clan (DD) disbanded so that would mean there would be 9 open spots for the league. If lots of clans show interest, based on timing, about 2 weeks from now would see a play in of some sort. Main part of league would start mid to late October which should help out the clans still in the CCUp and allow other clans to have a war or 2 using privileges. Could work out.

I voted for fewer, large matches. Cause it's less work in-clan to set up 60 games one time than it is to set up 10 games 6 times. But if we want to leave that format for the Conquer Cup and do that annually, then that's fine. Season 2 format was fun. My vote for Season 3 is ....

4-3-2

I like this. I think the games should be balanced. If a clan can't support this game load then maybe they shouldn't be involved in CL3

Masli and I went with the original thought of 4Q 3T 2D for 4*4 + 4*3 +2*2 = 29 spots, since most clans will send 15+ players, that is 2 games per home set and 4 games per challenge set. I was mainly concerned about going to larger sets and it appears that a small number of home games is more than fine with most.

3-3-3. let's make it even. or 4-3-3, but 4-3-2 is not ok IMO. having only 2 doubles games is too low.

as this is topic for discussing about number of games per gametype, I will write here my opinion why I think that 3-3-3 format is much better than 4-3-2:

josko.ri wrote:for example, let say a clan have 8 players who have fun in playing dubs and 8 players who have fun in playing quads. dubs players will then have chance to play only 1 game (8 slots home and away) that they like per round, and quads players will have chance to play 4 games (32 slots) that they like per round. as I think having fun is the most important part of playing (more important than winning) then players who enjoy in playing quads have 4 times more chance to have fun than the ones who enjoy in playing dubs. with 3-3-3 format that difference would become lower.

jpcloet wrote:Many top clans argued that doubles is less representative of skill than quads

so with written above I wanted to show: if winning is more important than having fun then 4-3-2 format is better because win a quad is much harder than win dubs game.
if having fun is more important than winning then 3-3-3 would be better because allows more equal number of slots to players who like dubs than to ones who like quads.

the very same argument can be made for 4,3,2 what if a clan plays 95 percent quads and only has 1 dbl team? we all know most clans gear more to trips and quads than singles and doubles more skill and less luck!!

I compared EQUAL number of player liking dubs and the ones liking quads, and proved that then the ones who like quads have chance to play 4 times more games per round. too much IMO.
you could also say that if 100% of players like quads then it s the best to play only quads. to get some reasonable results, you must compare equal number of players who like each gametypes.

fine you compared EQUAL number of players liking dubs and the ones liking quads

i know of no clan that has equal number of dbls and quads and if there is one they are the minority and we go with majority not minority!

AGAIN most clans gear more to trips and quads than singles and doubles more skill and less luck!!

I know quad is more skill that s why I said that if point is winning then more quads are better, and if point is having fun them 3-3-3 would be better.

I really doubt that in clans exists 4 times more players who like to play quads than the ones who like to play dubs (system 4-3-2 would be great if this is correct).

3-3-3 would also have more much more slots for quads than dubs (12 for quads, 6 for dubs) so then quad-likers would have 2 times more slots than dub-likers, which is ok. but 4 times more slots for quads are too much.

also, with 4-3-2 format 16/29 slots are filled by quads. is it really needed that 55% of slots in clan league are filled by only one gametype?
