Casino Themed map

Postby Jace22 on Mon May 31, 2010 3:23 am

I'm just throwing an idea I've had sitting around for a while(since at least christmas), but what would you all think of a casino map(possible name: Conqueror's Casino). I think I can have a simple sketch up later if it seems like a good

updated: shocked439 worked on a better draft than my sketch

Could be interesting... might need a twist though. There's plenty of good casino movies we could rip off of.

And your image is sideways.

yeah, I realized it was sideways after posting. And anyways it is just a basic sketch for now. I was thinking of having a win condition with the big slot machine in the middle, but have a large number of neutrals on it|(not sure yet). I'll rescan the image and repost it when I get home this evening

just realized that I know nothing about graphics design, so any help in that department would be much appreciated. Thanks

i like the scamming off of a movie idea. Oceans Twelve or thirteen or eleven or whichever it is would be fairly easy. a map of the bellagio floor would be easy to find with a couple insets for the swat team outside and the casino vault area.

that seems like a good idea. As long as we avoid using any real casino names(as they are copyright I believe) that should work. Let me see if i can get another sketch up. btw, still looking for someone to work on graphics

Here's something I came up with. I still need to add a poker room and it's really hard to make a non-phallic roulette table.

I spent some time fixing it up yesterday. I think it's looking like 40 spaces the dealers would make great neutrals, and the pit boss would be a good killer neutral. I fixed the phallic roulette table. I'll post it on Monday when I have real Internet access again

Here's my idea based off of jace's

it features 12 starting spots, 12 autodeploys (slot machines), 2 killer neutrals, 75 total spaces and lots of one way attacks.

Hmm... against my initial expectations, this is shaping up quite nicely.

I like the killer neutral choke points.

I don't like how it's taken me 3 minutes to figure out how to get to the high rollers lounge from the blackjack tables. Try coordinating the colors a little better?

I added some titles to each of the rooms and altered the rooms to make roulette worth while

I definately like the way this map is going, but, I think that quarter slots should assault any adjacent slot(ie QS 2 can attack QS 1, 3. and 6). But other than that It looks good.

I wasn't sure how to word it, I put that they can attack one higher and one lower (so 1 can attack 12 or 2, 2 can attack 1 or 3)

I understood that, I was just suggesting another way the gameplay could work for the QS

i see what you mean, so the middle row could attack the top and bottom rows, while the top could only attack middle and the spot next to it.

Can you post a pic, so I can see, i am more of a visual learner. The casino themed map is a great idea, something I have been suggesting for a few years now, glad to see.

glad to be getting some feedback on this now(other than shocked and myself). I updated the image that shocked created(and am aware that it may need to be smaller and need a smaller image). Any input would be much appreciated.
