Okay, HUH? If conquerclub suddenly became "ENGLISH ONLY" I bet you that it would lose a LOT of customers. Why should you be allowed to speak English around 5 people that speak French? Just because this is an English based website, it shouldn't discriminate against people who can't speak a word of English. I bet if you were in a players position, where you technically aren't allowed to say a single thing in chat, all because You can't speak the preferred language, you'd be pretty ticked off

forgiven one i have seen something before in one of these subjects where there is a translator plug in. but in this case this guy can speak english.

Well, i have time on my hands, so i can go translate. TBH, i haven't played anyone to speak in another language to me. But just because this guy can speak English, doesn't mean everybody else can.

all this started because CAYMANCHEW can't mind his business,i was speaking to SEKRETER .sekreter and i had a few words to say to each other the day before and when i sign in to play game 7079406 he place a message on my wall that i took offence on ,so when the game started i called him a bedejo which means sucker in spanish..but noooooooo this asswipe gets involved and blows every thing out of proportion.he doesn't know me and i don't know him so why would he jump in my face like that.i really do believe that he is 14 years old....LITTLE BOY IT'S TIME FOR U TO GROW UP!!

i not saying C.C. is only English but it is it's main language. and if there were 4 french people out of 5 players still the rules say English.

shall i post a list of all the games in which i did not spoke in english but in dutch? if CC wants to ban me for this, sure, but i think that of most of the players are non-english speaking players they should be allowed to speak their own language,

AND this rule only pertains to DIPLOMACY. It isn't that hard of a rule to understand.

If someone wants to call you names and talk about the weather in gibberish it IS NOT a rule violation.

yes i could look it up but i may have no time maybe i had 2-3 games going maybe i was busy. he could have been telling any of the other players what he was planning. he could be putting me down i sure he was at some points. if he was i would have like to hear it to my face not hidden behind a different language.

you perhaps should of translated it before making a report.
If it came back that he did nothing wrong it would of been bad for you...

I understand this is locked, but LV has locked this due to the topic getting heated and off topic, and since I have spent the last 20 minutes searching down the last case that was along the same lines as this I figured it was worth it to post.\

As LV and jefjef have already said the main thing in the rule here is Diplomacy, if there are not diplomatic discussions that are taking place then no rule has been violated.

Here was the last case.

Aright here's the collective ruling. As stated above in this thread somewhere we at this time do not require all chat to be posted in English for non diplomatic discussions. If you are in a game where discussions are taking place that are not in your native language or English you can ask the player to please post in English so that all may understand and know that the conversations that are going on are not diplomatic in nature.

If the user does not comply you have the Rating and Foe systems at your disposal, use at your will. And you also have the luxury of posting an accusation in here if you think that suspected user is involved in diplomatic discussions in a language that all in the game do not understand (violation of rule #2).

So in this case Mitsuko is cleared of wrong doing, Foe & Rate Accordingly.

If you don't agree with the ruling feel free to open an E-ticket. or

As a non-native English speaker, I would say that if the rules don't already state that you should speak a language comprehensible to all players in the game - then the rules should be changed. If we had this requirement, the problem - and this thread - might have been avoided in the first place.

take this to the suggs & bugs forum and address a change in there. As for now the rule on non-English chat is only a violation if it is done in regards to diplomatic discussions.

On a side note Mitsuko watch the flames in here and future posts.

Aright I have freshed up with the particulars in this case & will progress it forward, LV is busy routing for Australia in the Cup.

EL Conquistador1 is not guilty of secret diplomacy. As we have said in the past and as I have shown you with the latest reference in my last post we stand by the rule as it states:
All DIPLOMATIC DISCUSSIONS must be in the game chat area in a language all can understand.

This is a site that is used by a diversity of people from all over the world, we are not trying to prevent users from talking in their native tounge. We ask that if you want to form truces or talk of them then you do it in the area that is provided for you in the game so everyone in that game is aware of what is going on. And seeing as we have a broad spectrum of players we ask that it is done in a language all can understand or english.

EL Conquistador1 spoke of no diplomatic discussions. I understand the worry when you have someone speaking in a different language, but there are tools out there that can help you translate as to what is being said, and if you still feel that you think something is going on and your transaltion is off then you are more then welcome to create a thread in here like this and it will get reviewed by us.

Now he may not be guilty of secret diplomacy but this would all have been avoided if he just answered what caymanmew was asking in the first place. Instead, the more he provoked him and saying he only spoke Spanish, which is not true. Anyway, the case is: "speaking forien languages in came chat (not English)". This is cleared.

On a side note, after further investigation, EL Conquistador1 is busted for a multiple account.
