CC does not usually punish people for anything said in game chat, usually it's just FAMO (foe and move on), but this one is pretty bad. There's no reason members should have to listen to this, even for one game.
And foeing people in the middle of the game isn't a great option either because you still want to be able to follow along with the conversation in game chat. I guess in 1v1 you don't really need to follow the conversation, but in multiplayer you should.

In this case, he should have foed the guy as soon as he called him a fag... CC has lame rules at points, but, no one is willing to fight to get them changed for the best.. Besides, they use to allow chatter like that in games, but yet they banned a player for doing it every game he played... (hides in fear of the name ryan32)

I think it comes down to ones thickness of skin! I have had to endure way worse than that at points during games and I just foed them when it became tooooo much. FAMO is the best practice.

Although I agree, I've seen much worse than "fag," I also agree, it shouldn't have to just come down to thickness of skin. Saying it comes down to thickness of skin implies that the one who doesn't like such talk is the one in the wrong (for not having thick enough skin) while the one speaking filth or other nastiness is the 'hero' for "supporting freedom of speech."

I really wish CC would come up with a mild warning system. Currently, they likely won't warn for "fag" because it's solely a "three strikes and vaca" system; so instead, nothing is done to even slap-wrist that sort of verbal stupidity. Nothing being done means nothing discourages it, and for some, that's all that's needed to ENcourage it. I don't think someone should be banned or vaca'd over 1, 2, or 3 "fags" but I also don't think CC should indirectly encourage it by telling the offended people, "just develop a thicker skin or ignore it." A mild warning for each reported offense would not prevent future occurrences, but would, at least, make a mild public statement that that sort of thing is discouraged - which itself would help limit future occurrences. Yeah, there will always be those who refuse to be taught manners. But mild warnings would at least say, "We at CC wouldn't mind if people choose to learn some manners; in fact, we'd prefer it." I also don't recommend that we put "hunt out mild stuff to warn," on the gamechat mods' to-do lists. But when someone is offended enough to make a complaint such as this, no 'hunting' is required. Would take as little effort to pm the guy, "Please watch what you say in games with some folks; not all appreciate your humor," as it takes to post here, "FAMO."

I did foe him after I got all the game chat copied...I couldn't foe until after I copied it. You're right we should have thick skin but to get abused in chat when I was nothing but polite to him...Then he showed his bigotry and hatred. He is foed though. Thanks for all your comments.

Ok, yes we dont moderate chat unless its extremly vulgar. Most of the time you will see the response from us being to Foe & Rate Accordingly unless its above normal or includes bigotry and such.

The reason behind this being there is no way we can monitor all that game chat, and not to take anything away from people having the right to say and be heard. Does this sometimes hurt some users cause they have to bear a displeasing player? Yes, but thats why we have the Foe system.

Saying "fag" is not cool. However this chat although annoying is mild in nature. And in a case like this the response would be to Foe & Move on.

Now I agree whole heartly with stahrgazer's post above me. I concur that by nothing being said at all cause it doenst reach those barriers in which i discussed that the problem is still there. So I would say of course suggest this in suggs&bugs and who knows, and I also was going to message the player and tell him that this is not cool and is frowned upon.

However I wont need to, because he is BUSTED with another account. so you get some justice out of it.

The rules here arent perfect, the community is heard by the staff, so you should take advantage of that and add suggestions to help make this a better place. We can only operate in the guidelines that are stated, so we are sometimes limited to them and not able to correctly address a situation, case and point is farming. But with that being said the guidelines we currently have are more then capable enough to handle most situations and displeasures.

Good Day
